Is 131 × 131 squares too big for a battle map? We'd say no, but we built this one, so we're biased.
Every tree, bridge and log on it is 3D, so you can drop the camera down to the riverbank and see it the way your players would.

ALT 1. Top-down Worldmage map with a fine square grid. Two rivers meet in the middle, crossed by wooden bridges, among dense forest, pale rocky highlands, a marsh and a small walled graveyard in the top-left corner. 2. The same map seen from high above in 3D, a square block of forest, rivers and rocky peaks floating in pink evening haze with mountains behind.

Now in development: waterfalls, and water that sits at different heights.
Each ledge on this cliff holds its own pool, and the falls carry the water down from one to the next. Whatever's behind the big one is up to you.
Early mist on the Hollowmere crossing. Good light for an ambush, or for a party deciding the ambush is probably somewhere else.
We're not building another VTT. We're building 3D worlds that work with the ones you already use.
Worldmage is a browser-based 3D mapmaker, with live VTT integration at the heart of what we're working towards.
Build your TTRPG world, explore it in 3D, switch to tactical view for combat, and change the environment as your story unfolds.

A familiar crossing can feel quite different when your DnD party returns in summer.
Control the seasons as time passes in your campaign.
Moonlight is much more useful when you can choose how bright it shines.
Worldmage Build 498 is live, with terrain stamps for mountains and craters, selectable moon phases, version history, and Apple silicon Mac support.

Take the High Road. Watch your back.
Winding trails, narrow bridges, and a lovely view for whoever’s lining up the shot.
Built in Worldmage, The High Road is ready for a roadside ambush, a contested crossing, or a shortcut your party will regret.

Welcome to The Nest. The spiders were here first.
Built in Worldmage, this forest clearing is scattered with skulls and ready for your party’s next questionable decision. Set an ambush, search for a missing adventurer, or squeeze in “just one more encounter.”
Explore The Nest and put your own spin on the story:

A fresh pair of eyes on the worlds we’re building.
Thanks to Mature Minded Gamers for featuring Worldmage, our 3D mapmaker for TTRPG's. Great to see it finding its way into more tabletop conversations.

Mountains, moonlight, and Worldmage on Mac 🌙
Shape mountains with terrain stamps, set the moon phase, and revisit earlier saves with map version history.
Now on Apple silicon Macs, too. 💚
The update is live. Show us what you're building!
Someone is going to ask if they can befriend it...
Your heroes meet an owlbear in a forest encounter - built in Worldmage. The beak and claws make quite the opening argument.
What’s your party’s first move?
Someone is going to ask how thick the ice is....
A change of season can give your table fresh questions about an ordinary crossing.
Recreated a DnD 2D battlemap I just played in 3D!
(substituting icebergs, Orges, Palantír and missing shipwreck haha)
Can't wait for VTT integration cause once we destroyed the Palantír the snowstorm cleared, can do that live with @worldmageapp 🧭

Some parts of worldbuilding are worth lingering over.
Wheat rising beneath your hand, a field taking shape.

WORLDMAGE MAJOR RELEASE
We’ve been building towards this one for a long time, and we’re so excited to finally put it in your hands.
This is a huge leap for Worldmage. Your worlds will feel richer, more alive, and more atmospheric. There’s so much more to build with, and a completely refreshed UI to help you bring your ideas to life.
So much of this update has been shaped by you. Your suggestions, bug reports, and stories about how you use Worldmage have helped us make it better - and pushed us to rethink how things should work and what’s possible.
Now we can’t wait for you to open your own maps. See a familiar place under a moonlit sky. Turn an empty hillside into somewhere your party will remember. Get an idea and lose an evening bringing it to life.
The update is live on Steam now. Jump in, revisit your worlds, and make something new. 📷
It’s also live on the web - no download needed! Open Worldmage in your browser and get building instantly.

The fish have very little interest in your quest.
They’re busy being fish. Swimming through the water you create in Worldmage, making a little corner of your campaign feel more alive.
Watch the branches fill out. That’s the good bit.
Planting trees in Worldmage gives each new addition its own little moment. Worth slowing down for, even when you’ve got a whole woodland in mind.
One rock here… another there. A few trees, a winding path, and absolutely nothing magical lurking in the forest.
Probably. 🧙♂️🌲
