One of those little things. As it turns out - cycling can be boring at times, thus thoughts float around, bits of counting get done - the gearing on my bike means that in top gear it's about 10 full revolutions of the pedals per 100m. Actually, about 105/7 per km. Something that has been checked by counting pedals between km stones on the local roads. And, you know, very boring, but......

Completely Insane From Richard Murphy, by @worstall timworstall.substack.com/p/c… Sigh. If you want people to invest in something concentrate upon making it worth people investing in that thing. Rather than, you know, forcing them?

Having done - very lightly, really, very, very, lightly - conversations about space business with both of them the correct answer is to close down Nasa and give all the money to @elonmusk if you want to get things done.
Stop all Musk's government contracts and give that money to NASA. Our space program might once again produce things that benefit humanity.

Steal all the money of the bloke I don't like. For, of course. Reich is not suggesting buying out Musk at market prices, is he? I'd call that fascism myself. BTW, what's the blonde bird about doing politics in front of a bed? Is this a hint or something?
NEW: Robert Reich calls for the "defunding" of Elon Musk, calls for Democrats to go after Musk's companies. "Democrats ought to [start] laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink & SpaceX... It should be a public corporation." Does he want Musk to drop another $50M on the midterms?

Taff thinks that Paddy is a dwarf. Inter-Celt racism, now there's a thing.
Tonight, Cardiff Castle will light up green to mark Dwarfism Awareness Day. 💚 The illumination celebrates diversity and helps raise awareness and understanding of dwarfism. orlo.uk/S4Qel

It's an interesting one, isn't it? The NHS is to treat medical problems. Two birds - or two blokes - being infertile with each other is not a medical problem it's a result of a sexuality (or, given pairing, -ies). Bloke and a bird being infertile with each other could well be a medical problem. And, well......
Lesbian couples looking to conceive with IVF are forced to pay up to £19,000 for treatment that the NHS offers free to heterosexual couples. We’ve launched a legal challenge to change that: goodlaw.social/8103

OK. So the President of the United States is a racist. So was the last one. Been pretty common in fact. And?
He’s a fucking racist and there should literally be no debate about it. This is racism. Plain and simple.

No, this is great. So, one of these two houses gets confiscated now. And if he becomes President and moves into the Élysée then both of them. We - we, that is, not him - are not antinomians.

And on St. Crispin's, too. Think how many accents we could wipe out if we did it all again?
Crazy how English is the only Latin script language that doesn't need to deface its letters with diacritics. More proot that English is the greatest language in history

Quite. People attempting to solve a liquidity problem prove that a liquidity problem - which needs to be solved - exists.
Zuckerberg's fortune is mostly Meta shares, not cash in the bank. California's proposed wealth tax would take 5% of it, about $12bn, so the only way he can pay is by selling shares, which would cost him control of his own company. Meta has had to invent a new kind of share just to get around that. That's the liquidity problem Zucman says doesn't exist.

So here's the solution to the French problems. We should take back control, sort it out for them. Tsk, mere children who don't know how to do things, time for the adults again. Just the sort of thing we Anglos have to do each 6 centuries or so. No, no, thank us later. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember’d; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
