What a fantastic throwback post, @WhiteMarci65135! I would love to hear what's been going on for you since! Also, I'm co-authoring a book on disadvantage in schools. Would you be up for talking more and potentially contributing a case study? If so, message me your email!

@WalterPresents any plans to bring back Deutschland 86 and 89 to All4? We're halfway through the former and gutted it's been taken off!

When do you need responses by, Barbara? I'm sure some of my primary colleagues would be happy to help.

An incredibly exciting Starling day- the training manuals are ready and we've had a wonderful group of colleagues from both L.EA.D and wider join us.

With a generous grant from @towerpoetry, @EngMediaCentre is launching a project to 'map' poetry in secondary schools in England. We're starting with a national survey. If you teach English, please fill in the questionnaire so we get your views & insights. tinyurl.com/3u7d9by7

Having been an AHT for 9 years- it’s a DEMANDING job. (Not saying other areas aren’t!) We do EVERY duty, every day. Cover lessons. Stay behind for all/most school events. Line manage several people. Support them with parental meetings. And teach- a lot!
It’s not a job that schools can afford to lose.
❌ Ministers have suggested rising numbers of assistant heads could be the place to target cost-cutting as schools are forced to make savings to fund future teacher pay rises.
So what’s behind the rise, and is a cut do-able? @lydiachSW investigates...

Anon post:
I’m interested in exploring alternative leadership structures.
Has anyone moved away from the traditional HT–DHT–AHT model?
I’d love to hear what senior leadership models you’re using and how they’re working in practice.

Still listening and missing Edutwitter as it was. I'm struggling to find the same people and purpose on Bluesky too.

Schools are in such a tricky situation with this though. A huge amount of pressure and scrutiny involved and all stakeholders have varying perceptions of what feeling ill means. I'd argue it's not clear cut (excepting vomiting etc!)

Please retweet, especially if you're in or near Doncaster. Let's get Moley home!
Desperate parent alert! Our 4yo left his beloved teddy Moley (Florence the Mole from Any Creatures Wildlife) at Premier Inn Doncaster Lakeside on May 31. Likely scooped up with laundry 🧺💔 Discontinued + irreplaceable. Please RT + help us bring him home! 🙏#bringmoleyhome
I completely agree with @ICT_MrP here - as a parent and as an educator. A heart to heart over a glass of squash would have been great, but to suggest that "real love" is rooted in giggling at your child's poor behaviour when you've picked them up from school is something else!
Morning #teacher5oclockclub –
@leaningshane raises important questions about NPQs and what leaders really need.
One challenge, I think, is how separating design from delivery limits responsiveness in the moment to leaders' current priorities.

Will I ever lose the butterflies when waiting for everyone to turn up to a big online CPD session!?
'Have they got the link?'
'Am I still connected?'
'What if no one comes despite signing up?'
😂
Morning #teacher5oclockclub – important article on @SchoolsWeek today. The Y7 dip in engagement isn’t new - but that doesn’t mean we can ignore it.
We need to talk about transition, confidence, and belonging. How do you proactively support?
