If every programmer woke up tomorrow with a new habit, what would you want it to be? "Compassion. It’s a learnable skill. I didn’t have it naturally. I had to learn it, and I exercise it most of the time now." - Kent Beck builtin.com/software-enginee…

It is with great sadness that I share news of Joe Armstrong's passing away earlier today. Whilst he may no longer be with us, his work has laid the foundation which will be used by generations to come. RIP @joeerl, thank you for inspiring us all.

TL;DR: if you think someone’s work is good, and important, tell them! It really can make a surprisingly large difference and it took me quite a while to appreciate extent.

If you're a developer who wants to create an info-product or SaaS some day, the best thing you can do now is to build an audience of people who like and trust you.

I did NOT expect my birthday sale to sell out... twice... before I got up this morning. I'm adding 50 more seats, and I'll add another block for the PST folks later. Come master the object-oriented mindset with me! bit.ly/2lUzTfi

Coming from mostly back-end development work, much of @brad_frost 's recent post resonates. I dunno, React mostly reminds me of JSP when we used to mix markup and code. And I can't tell what's what in the syntax. teapawt.net/brad_frost/status/9942…
✎ Confession time: I've had a hell of a time getting my head around @reactjs. I wrote about why I'm struggling here: bradfrost.com/blog/post/my-s… I want to give a huge thank you to @dan_abramov for working with me and helping me better understand React's conventions. 🙏
