If you died tomorrow, could your family get to your crypto? For most holders the honest answer is no. No password reset, no bank manager to call. Coins with no plan just sit there, locked forever. Here's how to fix that, in plain steps. 🧵

$180M+ on Ethereum. Now the same credit vault lands on Base. FalconX just expanded its Structured Credit Facility to Base — deposit native Base USDC, curated by M11 Credit, deployed on Pareto. Returns come from institutional credit, not a savings APY. The launch posts still skip headline yield, minimums, and eligibility. If an heir only sees "USDC on Base," do they know which vault, which curator, and when redemptions open?

$2.65M. The seed was fine. The RUM script wasn't. Polymarket's international site loaded a compromised DebugBear monitoring script today. It sold open positions and swept balances while people were logged in. Trading paused about an hour; they pledge full reimbursement and referred it to UK police. Second frontend-vendor hit this year after June. If an heir only has your seed phrase, do they know which browser sessions and site scripts still sit above that wallet?

$1.6B in tokenized stocks. Still a Friday–Sunday hole. Chainlink 24/7 just closed it at Link:NYC — one continuous reference for equities, commodities, RWAs. Open hours: 24/5 session data. Closed hours: aggregated perp quotes, not the cash tape. @aave Horizon is first for stock-backed loans. A weekend mark keeps the protocol solvent. It does not name who can move the keys. Would you rather liquidations run on a perp blend — or freeze until Monday 9:30?

Mining for yourself ≠ holding anyone else's keys. ADGM just published the Gulf's first dedicated crypto mining guidance. Activity code 7230 covers PoW and PoS when you mine for your own account. Pool client assets or run their validators? That's a separate FSRA permission. A commercial licence is not a custody licence. Families mix those up on exchanges too. Would you rather a mining HQ that only hashes its own power — or one that also holds client rewards?

UK's FCA just forced HTX out until 2031. High Court settlement (ex-Huobi): no new UK sign-ups, no deposits, no promotions through Oct 21, 2031. Existing users can request a one-time 48-hour withdrawal window. A ban is news. A 48-hour window is when families discover they never wrote down the login. If your exchange gets locked out tomorrow — who even knows the password? Not financial advice.

$5.5 trillion in stablecoin volume. One API to the bank. Polygon Open Money Stack just added Solana — bank funding, cross-chain move, payouts in one integration. Kira is already wiring supplier dollars out of USDC rails. Sending the token was never the hard part. Landing it in a checking account still is. Would you rather one stack across chains — or keep stitching five vendors?

Strategy Q3 call tonight — 5 PM ET. @phongle: earnings on the calendar. Stack: 848,517 BTC at ~$75,446 avg (Oct 26 filing). BTC near $80k puts the book in the green. A ticker on a screen is not a key your executor can open. Corporate stacks get audited. Household stacks often don't. Watch for more BTC buys — or how they talk about custody? Not financial advice.

Sui hits Mercado Bitcoin — Brazil's first. @SuiNetwork: 4.5M clients can buy, sell, send, and receive $SUI, $USDC, and $USDsui. @Mysten_Labs: every Sui app is one withdrawal away. A listed asset on an exchange is not the same as a key your family can use. Withdrawal is the estate step most people skip. Leave it on the CEX, or pull it to a wallet you can document? Not financial advice.

$2.7M. The box looked sealed. Police advisory (Oct 28): at least 2 cases since Sept 10 — hardware wallets bought at some retail counters had malicious implants that captured recovery phrases. Not a cloud breach. Maker already asked SE Asia / HK retailers to pause sales while they investigate. Cold storage isn't cold if someone touched the device before you. Would your estate letter even record which channel that wallet came from?

Russia just named its first crypto-exchange SRO. Bank of Russia on Oct 29 put NAUFOR in as the self-regulator for digital depositories and crypto exchangers. About 23 exchangers and 8 depositories already on the official registers — including VTB and Sberbank — get 90 days to join. A register plus an SRO is progress. Family recovery still fails if nobody knows the account exists. Would you park estate funds on a brand-new licensed venue — yes or no? Not financial advice.

Europe's first retail spot Bitcoin ETF still won't hand your kids a seed phrase. On Oct 20, 2026, Switzerland's FINMA approved the country's first exchange-traded retail fund that invests directly in Bitcoin — an "other fund for alternative investments" with a specific risk. BIT Asset Management's Bitcoin Fund ETF (ticker BBIT) says it expects to list on SIX Swiss Exchange in November. FINMA also noted other providers have applied. Why this matters for families (not traders): 1. It's a Swiss collective investment scheme — assets are ring-fenced from the manager, unlike many Europe-listed BTC ETPs that are debt notes with issuer risk. 2. Buyers get fund shares in a brokerage account. Heirs claim through the ordinary securities / estate path — death certificate, proof of authority, ID — not a 12-word recovery phrase. 3. FINMA still warns: Bitcoin volatility can erase a large share of capital. Suitability and risk disclosures under FinSA apply at the point of sale. 4. Custody risk moves to supervised institutions under FINMA's Jan 12, 2026 guidance — it does not invent a payable-on-death checkbox for you. Inventory the broker and the ticker while you're healthy. Leave the seed advice for self-custody holdings: use proper multisig or a wallet's official Shamir scheme — never DIY word splits, and never put words in a will. Brokerage BTC sleeve or self-custody keys for family money — which path have you actually documented? Not legal or investment advice. Swiss and U.S. claim rules differ — confirm with counsel where you live.

NYSE owner ICE is wiring Hyperliquid perps into the U.S. @tradexyz + ICE: a planned U.S. venue for 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid — equities, indices, commodities, FX, crypto. Trade.xyz says its Hyperliquid markets already cleared $650B+ volume in ~1 year. Still needs CFTC approval. Wall Street spent years mocking on-chain perps. Now it wants the same rails — with a license. If your family can only use "regulated" venues, who teaches them what an account freeze looks like? Not financial advice.

Westpac: A$10,000/month cap on payments to crypto exchanges from Dec 1. Covers Westpac, St. George, Bank of Melbourne, BankSA — online, app, cards. No exemptions. Withdrawals from exchanges into the bank unchanged. Scam curb is fair. A hard ceiling on how a household funds an exchange still feels blunt. If your bank did this — switch banks, or buy via ETF instead? Not financial advice.

34 CUSIPs. ~$30T. Same ownership rights as street name. DTCC's Tokenization Service is live on Canton + private Besu. DTC still holds the books ($114T+ under custody). 20 firms signed. Tokens move 24/7 — but only between registered wallets on the same chain. Would you rather explain book-entry or a registered wallet to the estate lawyer?

CFTC Chair: your fridge could stake ETH — or launch a memecoin. @ChairmanSelig at the agency's first Frontier Forum (Oct 28): autonomous agents holding/trading crypto is no longer science fiction. He asked who registers, who's liable if an agent goes rogue, and floated "Know-Your-Agent." If software can custody coins alone, your estate note needs the agent credentials too — not just the seed phrase. Who pays when the agent empties the wallet — you or the developer? Not financial advice.

Alphabet already secures its own ETH and SOL with Google MPC. Private preview for banks: key shards across Google Cloud, the bank's hardware, and another cloud. Thresholds like 2-of-3 or 5-of-7. A policy engine checks limits, destinations, and multi-dept approval before any signature. Commercial launch targeted early 2027. When the key lives in three places — whose name goes on the estate letter?

~$3.89B of $HYPE is gone for good. @WuBlockchain: Hyperliquid has burned ~49.87M tokens — 4.99% of the 1B max supply — from fee-funded buybacks. On-chain burns are easy to audit. Family recovery plans for the remaining bags usually aren't. Would your executor even know this stack exists? Not financial advice.

Alipay just denied Peer's USDC-via-Alipay claim. Peer said a CNY↔USDC beta on Base ran 107 orders (~$7,094). Alipay: no support for crypto trading or related services; third-party claims are false and unauthorized. On-ramps that lean on a payment giant without a real partnership usually end like this. Would you trust a P2P "pay with Alipay" crypto path — yes or no? Not financial advice.

Zero downtime. Still no handover timetable. Core DAO (Oct 27): early contributors Rich Rines and Brendon Sedo step back from DAO roles. Independent validators now produce blocks. Ecosystem stewardship moves "gradually" to community operators — no replacements named, no date set. Satoshi Plus still mixes delegated CORE, miner hash power, and self-custodial BTC stake. A note that only says "the DAO runs it" ages the day the named stewards leave. Is a community handoff real before the next signer is written down?
