when i was 14/15 i wrote a long as hell fic and it got a lot of attention. at 22 y/o i reread it and was embarrassed of it (bad grammar, plot holes, etc.), so i DELETED IT and rewrote it all; same story, different approach. a girl who read the older version told me the next:

I’m sorry but acting like people are stealing from you for downloading fics are insane. If you’re a real fanfic writer, you’re in it for the love of the game and you’re not policing how people are enjoying your writing. If you’re in it for the kudos, this isn’t the hobby for you.
