It's official: British Airways, the largest B747 operator, is scrapping their entire Jumbo fleet with immediate effect. 1st major hint was the ending of crew training earlier this year. Boeing stopped production & Virgin has already retired their B747s. Good night Jumbo Jet 😓👋

While Air France is terminating its A380 fleet, Lufthansa removing it from Frankfurt & Emirates seeking to scrap orders - British Airways sent G-XLEH to Manila for heavy maintenance. That indicates that at least BA will keep the quad-jet around for a 'whale' longer 🐋

This Queen [G-CVIX] has been quarantined in the Spanish aircraft graveyard Teruel with some of BA's oldest B747s. The seniormost B747 there is 27 years - what a durable piece of engineering! Bring her back after the pandemic, pretty please. She's only 21 👼 #QueenOfTheSkySaturday
