Just so you know, this exact same pressure has been around in the military for decades. I know this personally from being assigned at a tech school in the early 80's. This very thing happened in aircraft maintenance tech schools in the Air Force. Anyone, including myself (a female) who refused to participate in it were harassed by the female group commander to the point of being 'investigated' for made up bullshit like fraternizing with students. This isn't new. Many of the females maintainers were so useless in the field that they ended up running the squadron snack bars bc no one trusted them to actually work on aircraft.
Those of us that not only loved working on aircraft but had the ability to outperform many of our male counterparts were all viewed as a quota. It destroys unit cohesion and is a cancer inside the military. Competency standards are not 'standards' if they aren't applied equally across the board. It undermines those of us who can meet those standards and sets up the 'quota' graduate for failure and ridicule among their peers in the field. I watched it happen and at the end of the day it has the potential to cost ppl their lives in profession of arms.

Former BUD/S commander Brad Geary says that kind of pressure came straight from Washington on his watch during the Biden administration:
"We were getting calls and pressure. Hey, just get one through."
SEALs pushing back say they’d welcome a woman who truly earns it, but BUD/S already washes out over 70% of the men who start, and part of the point is proving you can carry an injured teammate, who could weigh up to 300 pounds in full gear, miles to safety.
Plenty also worry about what mixing men and women in small teams does to trust and relationship dynamics when lives are on the line.
Something important to note, though: a woman has already earned her way through SWCC without shortcuts.
SWCC, short for Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, is the second operator component of Naval Special Warfare alongside the SEALs, running the high speed boats that insert and extract SEAL teams, and its BRUTAL 37 week pipeline washes out most who try... So it can be done the honest way, but SWCC is a completely different animal from BUD/S.
And then there’s Pete Hegseth, which is where this gets messy...
Hegseth appeared on Shawn Ryan’s podcast shortly before Trump picked him for SECDEF, and since Ryan is a former SEAL himself, many in the SEAL community believe that appearance helped land Hegseth the job.
In that same interview, Hegseth went as far as saying women shouldn’t be in combat roles, so if two women are indeed being pushed through, what changed his stance? Some believe Hegseth and other top brass could just be chasing a legacy moment.
Whatever the truth is, given how notoriously grueling and physically demanding BUD/S and SQT are, is it even possible for a woman to earn her Trident without the standards being changed or bent?

🚨🇺🇸🇷🇺 BREAKING: The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has issued an URGENT warning of a credible threat that could cause MASS CASUALTIES in the Russian capital.
And the warning is for TODAY, October 31.
American officials have specifically identified the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, a major public park and historic complex in southern Moscow, as the potential target.
The embassy is urging people to STAY AWAY from the area, avoid crowds and remain alert.

At least three Los Angeles County election workers are ordered to appear the morning AFTER Election Day.
They're being asked how LA County screens for ILLEGAL voting by noncitizens, and whether they have any evidence that an illegal has already voted.
