At Alere S. S. in Adjumani, as part of the Health club, there are boys that are doing a great job promoting menstrual knowledge and awareness against harmful cultural practices such as child marriage. I promised the boys that, to show my appreciation for their work, I will draw them and credit them publicly (make them famous) - to inspire more to such constructive work. The first I am sharing is Solomon Kuch. Share until it reaches him in the refugee camp in Adjumani.

Much as AI presents many opportunities in education, it is becoming a nuisance among lazy university students! Unfortunately many teachers haven’t caught up yet with the technology and associated mischief. Much of it passes undetected, with no learning happening. AI essays, AI proposals, AI dissertations, AI drawings, AI diagnoses…

The wives of Museveni and Muhoozi must be new curriculum! By Gawaya Tegulle The Bible has women no one ever talks about, because we’re too busy focusing on their husbands. Moses is as big a name as they come; the man who, with lots of miracles, led Israel out of Egyptian captivity and authored the first five books of the Bible. But nobody mentions Zipporah, his wife. Had she not been wise and decisive, Moses would have been killed by the Lord for disobedience, because he delayed - or refused - to circumcise his children. Now there’s a wife! We know Haman, the man who, between 474–473 BC, tried to instigate a genocide against the Jews in Babylon, simply because he hated Mordecai, the one man who refused to bow down to him. And we know how that story ended – with Haman hanging on the very gallows he had built to have Mordecai hanged on. Nobody talks about his wife, Zeresh, a woman who had both beauty (the foremost qualification for the wife of a noble) and brains (optional, really, because you were supposed to do nothing more than look lovely and be available - when needed). Zeresh warned Haman: if Mordecai is a Jew, don’t fight him any further, because when you fight Jews, there can only be one winner. Now there’s a wife! Haman didn’t listen. He died. We know Pontius Pilate, yes. But we skim over his wife, Claudia Procula (Procla). In the heat of the moment, when huge crowds wanted Jesus killed, she stood up to her husband like a real wife: “Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.” Now there’s a wife! Pilate chose the cowardly, populist route - and history has never forgiven him. When the Lord said He’d make a “help meet for Adam”, it was not because he was short on vocabulary. He didn’t say a woman or a wife; or, cuter still (pun, yo!), a chick or a babe. Nope. He used the word ‘help’. Throughout the Bible we see that God has a unique sense of word economy – He doesn’t waste words. That’s why He says that just like neither raindrops nor snowflakes ever return to the heavenlies where they came from, so shall His Word be that goeth forth out of His mouth – it shall not return to Him empty, but it shall accomplish that which He pleaseth and prosper in the thing whereto He sent it. A ‘help meet’ will love, like, believe in, and support her husband when nobody else will. But, more crucially, will also correct him when he is wrong, point out gaps, plug loopholes, and tell him what nobody else might have the guts to. Women – the fairer sex – the other gender – the weaker vessels – have one advantage over men: they were created from refined material. Men came from raw earth. Women came from men already created. So they’re by nature soft and tender-hearted. And, from my experience, much wiser – forget the emotional outbursts and the sulking and pouting. Men have up to a sixth sense. Women have a seventh, which warns you of trouble ahead! A wife of President Museveni should not be at peace if the jails are full of people who spend years in deplorable conditions, wasting away, without trial, their families falling apart, just for being opposition. That should haunt her and prick her tender conscience. She should be disturbed that Museveni first locks up his opponents and their supporters, kills others, scares the rest, then purports to campaign - and that he has to rig the vote and, without shame, claim victory. A wife of the President should be the first to call him to order when he is manifestly ruining a country, doing things even Idi Amin wouldn’t think of doing. A wife of President Museveni should be the first to condemn him for the way he has treated Dr. Kizza Besigye, hounding and haunting a harmless, unarmed man whose only fault is aspiring to be President. There is another fault, of course, which we all know and can discuss. Not here, not now. That one needs a coffee at Cafe Javas, and a muffin or two.

Our man, @OfwonoOpondo, the immediate former govt spokesperson says we should take the claims against Elwelu with a pinch of salt, even smaller! He adds that Ugandan military has a history of cooking up intelligence, that he thinks Elwelu is being witch-hunted for his old "biff" with the CDF. The respected elder from Namulanda says Musa Ecweru of the Arrows Boys spoke like a militia leader, and that he is looking for him and his arrows and stones to have a conversation with - basically to tell him "sit down and shut the hell up, man" - instead of running around like a headless chicken since he miserably lost elections. Ofwono also dared Ecweru to release the list of men he claimed had been recruited into rebel activities that he was supposed to release on Thursday! Someone tried to say that the issues should be left to the military, not discussed in the media like #TheCapitalGang he replied that the issue was taken to the media by the CDF and his people.

Who owns Endiro Coffee in Uganda? The answer may lie in a US government lobbyist filing by Mr. Cody C Lorance, a hired lobbyist of the Ugandan government in Washington, DC. It may be lost in small prints, see if you can spot it in the link below. efile.fara.gov/docs/7229-Exh…

UPDATE: COSASE chairperson Muwada Nkunyingi has raised concern that some parliamentary technical staff have allegedly been altering committee reports before they are formally submitted to investigative bodies such as the Inspector General of Government (IGG) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Nkunyingi warned that, if confirmed, unauthorised alterations would undermine parliamentary oversight and compromise institutional accountability. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Ibrahim Kavuma

Help me make sense of this. So, a traffic officer stops me, runs my car number in his machine, and tells me I have a fine I have never paid for ‘reckless driving’. The fine, it shows, was issued to someone whose name I’ve never even heard about. But the car details are mine. And I have never given my car to anyone in the said period, or any other - not even a mechanic! So, we called the said person in loud and asked him if he knows me. He said he knows ‘Spire Kiggundu the cartoonist’ but has never met him beyond seeing him on X. When the officer went on to explain and ask more questions, the guy sounded unamused, and hang up. Confused, the traffic officer let me go and told me to go and try appealing if I’m sure it’s a mistake. I failed to make sense of the whole thing. How could that be? @PoliceUg

No one is going to put restrictions on Kenya, just observe and see and by the way, that patient didn’t pass through Uganda at all. Uganda is free from that, let’s avoid mentioning Uganda please. Everyone knows Kenya will put up a fight should anybody try to restrict them from free movement or Tourists.

If Ugandan Cranes keep winning with the Bachuba squad, at some point the assertion of @TimKalyegira that Ugandan should bring in foreigners to run it will start making sense, unfortunately. 😂

We don't thank Tanzania enough. This beans is called Masavu (or something like that) it retails at UGX 7k/kg. The other two are above 5k. Almost all major food grains are now coming from Tanzania and DRC. Yes, DRC. Why? About 15 years ago, Tanzania decided to go massive in seed and fertilizers subsidy, expansion of more farmland and increase in mechanisation-esp the two wheeled tractors and small horsepower tractors. The dividends are clear. Northern Uganda (Eastern and large parts of central) used to produce a lot of food grains. About 20 years ago, massive seed oil industries started cropping up especially in Lira. The demand for seed oils went up. Farmers shifted to them. Today, you can hardly find beans, peas, millet in commercial quantities. Almost every house hold grow Soya, sunflower and maize. Should Tanzania one day decide to lock their border, femine will decimate us.

@Daki_Tah, join me in giving flowers to this man, @c_mwanguhya. He absolutely delivered on his role. Jjajja @KagutaMuseveni can be a bully when it comes to translators. He is known to stop and demand clarity if he feels the message isn’t being translated to the dot. But at no single moment did I hear him ask, “Is this man translating what I am saying, or is he saying something else?” That, to me, speaks volumes about the quality of the work. Charles, I salute you. You understood the assignment and delivered. 👏🏾
