1976 NASA concept art by Rick Guidice depicts a space colony called a Bernal Sphere, population 10,000. The residential area sits in the central sphere, with farming regions in the surrounding "tires." Mirrors direct sunlight into the colony, and large solar arrays provide power.

Xiaomi’s AI Cube is a big signal for the future of local AI.
This is not just another mini PC. Xiaomi is combining three custom Xring chips in a compact system designed to run large AI models locally.
Some numbers:
• Up to 150W of sustained performance
• 200 TOPS of AI performance from the Xring O3 NPU
• Up to 1.22 TB/s of near-memory computing bandwidth from the Xring O100
• Up to 160 GB of unified memory on the Xring D100
• Support for models up to 120B parameters in the AI Cube prototype, with the D100 architecture targeting up to 200B-parameter models
This is why local AI matters.
