And it would be the first ever mod I make so I'll probably butcher the fuck out of it

I think this shows the different mentality between PvE and PvP players.
In MWZ, the Red Worm is one of the most challenging things to do in-game and gives some of the best rewards in the game.
If MWZ were advertised as a PvPvE mode, players would kill each other to get the opportunity to kill the Red Worm and loot it.
But because it is PvE only, you see people not only work together to make short work of it, but notice that at the end, everyone drops the schematics they don't need.
From the PvP lens: this makes the game too easy and takes away the fun of the challenge.
From the PvE lens: this is what makes the game fun in the first place: overcoming a huge challenge with teamwork and helping others win too.
To this day, there are people doing the red worm, assimilating into 6-man squads, and going to the Dark Aether to get more schematics for the community. The Red Worm was released in Season 1, and this footage is days away from BO6, and you can see how many people are still engaging with the game on this level.
This isn't to say that the PvP mentality is wrong, nor is this saying that the PvE mentality is right.
Rather, I think it shows how players can see the same exact game and approach it from a completely different mentality.
Because DMZ is PvPvE, neither one is right or wrong; you can do both; that's the point of the mode. But that is also a source of the passionate disagreements you see all over.
I love IW, they’re really funny
This map might be the best custom map ever, EVERYONE should try it when it comes out
