Pinning this as a reminder to myself
one of the biggest realisations i had as an adult was that i don't owe yesterday anything. every time that alarm goes off i can become someone new, and the only thing stopping me is myself.

this is why standing on a decision and being abused by ur family is such a socially isolating experience.. there’s so many other people that think like this. strangers at that. calling ur character into question because you distanced yourself from some people they don’t know.
people who actually hold grudges against their family members & go years without speaking to them are not good ppl 😭 idk it’s literally your family

as someone that’s worked with kids and now parents a majority of my professional life..parents aren’t really shining examples of maturity because if that were true the world would likely be a much better place.
Unpopular opinion: most people who don’t have kids never fully grow up. The reason is simple: you can’t be fully mature if there’s nobody in your life who truly matters more than you, someone you’d be brave for because your love for them transcends your survival instinct.

once you turn 20 you have to fight everyday for the rest of your life to not lose your personality & spirit...bc what once came naturally to you will be exhausted into nothing if you don't actively Try. it's terrifyingly easy to become a lethargic, soulless adult

Especially if you loved that person.
realizing your life is better without someone in it is such a heavy, mixed feeling.

I think men really have a hard time believing that I actually just want sex because the type of sex I like involves some passion. lol. But it’s like … babes the passion is cause you’re a human being I like having this experience with, I’m not gonna half ass it.

The moment they find out I can carry a conversation they start trying to date. Lmao. I can’t NOT talk, it’s not my personality really, but .. why do I cease to be a sexual person when that happens? lol it’s weird

Because if you gonna go out sad and lose your mind over a man, the least you could do is do it over one that’s fine
Women get real mean when they see another woman losing their mind over a dude they don’t find attractive lmaoo

agency means having the capacity to act on your own choices, not just waiting for someone else to make theirs. you can’t keep describing yourself as decisive while making your dating life entirely dependent on a man’s initiative. take charge of what you want.
The worst part of dating as a decisive high-agency woman is that you have spend so much time waiting around for a man to do something- ask for your number, ask you out, make a plan, keep said plan. And so many of them are so slow with what should be a 5 minute process max

I also don’t think I’ll ever be as social and extroverted as I once was, even the way I interact on here and I know some of you have felt it cuz I used to be way more social but life’s wear and tear and loss have changed me and taken tolls.

So what I’ve accepted about myself is that I’m at my best when I’m inclement and working towards something, usually several things at the at same time I don’t do well with leisure. Especially the passive kind

I love sex. I love order more than I love sex. I love having an exclusive body & stricter requirements than "good vibes". I don't love feeling conquered, or being used & won't be delusional or ignore uncomfy truths to indulge in casual sex comfortably.
This might be a controversial opinion but I think if you need a deep emotional connection to have sex, you don’t really enjoy sex that much and you do it just to feel loved. I mean, people call this demisexual (which is apart of the a-sexual spectrum) for a reason.

Please understand that it does get to a point where all that talking might not do a damn thing so …
You cannot claim to be emotionally mature if your response to conflict is silent treatment, blocking, insults or making the other person beg for communication. You should know how to communicate that you're hurt without deliberately hurting the person who hurt you 📌

I want to take the word attachment and throw it in an active volcano

I have learned that you will keep getting depressed about old trauma until you learn to love the person trauma made, even though that person was chaotic and destructive. You have to have compassion for your confused, messy self and realize they tried their best.
