What a gift the past 4 days were. The colors were absolutely unreal, & the fact that I only put myself in 1 dumb situation in 4 days rather unreal too.
Fall roads giving me that come hither look...and I fall for it every time😜Take another day off work? Fineeeeeee
📍Transylvania County
Had low expectations for fall color season thanks to drought & heat. It's actually made my hikes more enjoyable, because everything has been an unexpected bonus.
Picture perfect day, and even on a Saturday I managed to have nearly every trail to myself, except this spot.
If I ever go missing on a hike, it'll probably be cause some influencer pushed me off a cliff after I mouthed off to them😅
Not that I did that today or anything 🤷♀️

♥This is how we looked the year we were married. I really miss my wife Gloria. So I will walk in her honor tomorrow in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. We want to find a cure. If you would make a donation, I would be very grateful. act.alz.org/goto/TrafficGuy
I will not read any yankees posts
I will not read comments on posts
I will not jump off a cliff
We. Are. Not. Fine.
RIP Yankees
I think I like the fall color pallette so much because it's in complete contrast to the nearly all black in my closet. I step into those brilliant woods and my brain pretty much explodes.
View made better when seen from the top of a 60 foot fire tower built 92 years ago, feeling the full effects of the wind.
My heart is so full. My favorite spot in the Smokies. I've only been here once, 6 years ago. Wonderful day with a wonderful friend at a wonderful spot. Even gifted me moody clouds & some wicked wind gusts, especially at the top of the tower.
I really don't know why fall trees steal my heart like they do, but I sure hope they never stop.
(I know the colors look exaggerated, but the backlighting of the sun truly had them glowing like this)
One of my go-to fall trails (& late summer for berries). My favorite tree always dresses up for me. I feel so loved.
