Frente Blanquiazul was founded in the CD Tenerife stands in 1986. The group emerged from the union of supporters from Tenerife’s football and handball stands and over the years became one of the most important supporter groups at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López. According to the group’s own statements, antifascism has been one of its fundamental characteristics since its foundation. At the same time, the group has a strong Tinerfeño and Canary Islands identity and supports the independence of the Canary Islands from Spain. This political identity is also reflected in the slogan “Tinerfeñismo – Canariedad – Antifascismo”, which the group has used for many years. Frente Blanquiazul takes a clear stance in the stands against racism, xenophobia, fascism and other authoritarian ideologies. In line with this position, they have organized anti-racism events, antifascist days, solidarity initiatives and aid campaigns for children over the years. The “Dale una Patada al Racismo” event organized in the early 2000s was also one of these initiatives. Frente Blanquiazul also has longstanding relations with antifascist supporter groups in Spain and other autonomous regions. The group has a brotherhood with Celtarras, which is no longer active, and also has historical ties with groups such as Bukaneros, Peña Mujika, Herri Norte, Brigadas Amarillas and Kolectivo Sur. Frente Blanquiazul is also a strong supporter of Palestine. The group frequently displays Palestinian flags in the stands against Israel’s attacks on Gaza and the genocide. Che Guevara and Antifa Action flags can also frequently be seen in the section where the group is located.
