I can finally truly confirm that Japan’s Iwo Jima volcano is erupting again. I was sent footage of floating lava balloons along with degassing from the very shallow submarine vent.

🆕Please find our newly updated 3D deformations. It is just a preliminary result with 1 km resolution. The higher resolution map is on the way. Deformations are well consistent with the reported coastal change. More to post ~ --@HLuo18 @kmno4_deliang Shengji @Dr_Yu_Jiang and me

I just quickly processed InSAR displacements for this Mw7.6 earthquake. Please see the preliminary results below. From it, we can clearly see two large deformation asperties. These data can only cover region onshore, but what for the northern part offshore🤔?
