It’s really hard. I want to desperately help people like I have helped myself. But unfortunately most people’s identity is wrapped up in their sickness that they can hear you when you speak.

The reality of being a millennial: - Graduated straight into the 2008 financial crisis - Every "entry-level" listing wanted 2-3 years of experience nobody would give you a chance to get - Watched pensions disappear and get replaced by a 401k you're on your own to manage - Got promoted and realized it meant a 3% raise and double the workload - Finally felt stable, then a global pandemic hit - Inflation spiked to a 40-year high and wiped out every raise you'd gotten - Home prices jumped so fast you went from "saving for a down payment" to "just renting forever" - Childcare now runs close to a full mortgage payment a month - Stuck in the middle: aging parents on one side, young kids on the other, burned out at work, and the cost of simply existing climbing every year - Now AI-driven layoffs are hitting right during what should be peak earning years

I’m offering a $10,000 reward if the hackers who are now in possession of my medical data can use that data and their skills to come up with a cure for my chronic illness. Payment will be issued after 1 year symptom free. Get to work fellas
Quest Diagnostics has been hacked. Patient data was exposed. They serve roughly half of U.S. hospitals and physicians. Investigation ongoing.

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

Wow.
TROUTMAN POLICE CHIEF ENDS OFF-DUTY SECURITY ASSIGNMENTS AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS Troutman, NC - Troutman Police Chief Josh Watson has notified Iredell Statesville Schools that, effective October 26, 2026, his officers will no longer be authorized to work off-duty security assignments at Board of Education meetings. The decision follows an October 12 incident in which Board Chairman Doug Knight requested the removal of a man who was reading sexually explicit excerpts from a book reportedly available in Lake Norman High School’s library. The excerpts included descriptions of sexual acts and anatomy that Firewire will not repeat in this post. Troutman officers handled the situation calmly and politely asked the man to leave. In his letter, Chief Watson cited concerns about the legal basis for requested removals, the protection of constitutional rights, and the expectations placed on officers assigned to these meetings. “A request from the presiding officer does not, by itself, establish sufficient legal grounds for removal, detention, or arrest,” Watson wrote. The board and school administration will now need to arrange alternative meeting security. Troutman Police will continue responding to calls for law enforcement assistance at board meetings within their jurisdiction. Officers may also continue working approved off-duty assignments at school sporting events and other school activities. Firewire applauds Chief Watson for recognizing that officers must independently determine whether enforcement action is legally justified. His letter raises serious concerns about how requests to remove members of the public are handled. Firewire's position is simple: If a book is appropriate for students to access in a school library, school board members should be willing to hear its contents discussed during public comment. If board members find those passages too graphic to hear at a meeting, they should be willing to explain why the material is appropriate for students to read in private. Excellent job, Chief Watson. @isschools

I might be raising some of them! We did a little small town architectural walk yesterday only to find one building with Greek columns, one church with stain glass and a bank with faux Roman columns. Even though it was so few they loved it and then proceeded to compare it to the post mod, Marxist, corporate minimalism of the local Dollar General and McDonalds with utter disgust. LOL.

Why the fuck do they keep adding additives to a product that doesn't need any? What was wrong with cream? I don't care if it goes bad 3 days earlier. Take that shit out of our dairy products.

Ok I could not help but purchase and read to my kids. Let me tell you, it immediately shifted their perspective, not just outside, but everywhere! When you can create art and see a new perspective in the formally mundane, it changes you. 100/10. You must read this. Don’t just let the seasons pass you by, live them deeply so that your kids will embrace every detail in the beauty of God’s world.
This is such a fun book. It's a great read aloud + it inspires kids to go outside to make nature art. There's a fantastic leaf identification guide at the back that's incredibly helpful too 🍁 🍂

Well, what do you expect of a politician who thinks it’s somehow shameful that American high schoolers want to be athletes when they could be studying for the spelling bee instead?

Anytime an activist or candidate can measurably carry 10% of a states population they are a serious candidate. 10% is the number that changes the game. Every real political activist knows this. Every politician knows this. Every political strategist knows this. 10% is all you need to play the game.

When I was young, I used to think that no matter what happened to me, I could go to a hospital and everything would be okay. Understanding what a hospital really is, as you get older, is like going back to the state fair at 30. As a kid, the excitement is in conquering the fear of the ride. But “the ride” is an abstract. You’re bracing for an experience that you ultimately trust. As you get older, the ride becomes very concrete. The beams jostle. Paint bubbles over the rust. The carnie running the Zipper took an extra Klonopin and just wants to get home to his polycule. And you begin to understand how little there is between you and the ground. If you’re not careful as you age, your life is increasingly in the hands of people of impossible shapes who don’t look like you, don’t think like you, who will treat your fate with less interest than the vampire rapemance audiobook they put on during lunch. You have to laugh so you don’t cry. You have to build a body that keeps you far away from such places. When you’re forced in, speak clearly, or have someone speak for you, and do not look away while they work.
- 19yo with disorder that makes him prone to blood clots - calls an ambulance with symptoms typical of a blood clot in the lungs - blood test to rule out blood clot not performed - discharged with antibiotics - reattended A&E later same day coughing up blood (red flag for blood clot). Discharged again. - saw GP a week later who sent to A&E as had obvious symptoms of blood clot - discharged with no investigation for blood clots from A&E again as doctor “forgot” to refer to be admitted for tests - attended later same day as symptoms worsening.
