While complaining about being a broke b!tch (I was likely teasing my guy friend about him having to pay for a lunch he wanted) he asked how much I made. When I told him, he said he made 4xs what I did for literally half the time (he was PT) and half the work. #BlackWomensEqualPay

My bro & I spoke about that scene in Insecure cuz I share the same profession as Molly. It was a powerful scene! Next steps were considered & new approaches moving forward was strategized. The main issue was I enjoyed my job but learned my counterparts were getting paid more.

I come from a stock of Haitians who see negotiating as matter of fact as breathing. My mom once told me to call Amazon & tell them the price she was willing to pay for an exercise bike on their site. She was so serious about me negotiating w Jeff Bezos. 🤷🏿♀️

Everything is Negotiable. Salary, vacation days, equity, title. There are many avenues to getting value and finding a compromise that works for you! #BlackWomensEqualPayDay
