The situation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts seems to be deteriorating. Can’t rely on the army to protect indigenous people there. Haven’t seen anything in the media about these temple attacks yet 🇧🇩
Now the communal attacks at Rangamati,#Bangladesh has come down to looting in buddhist temples. Now they are going for one after another temples. #AllEyesonBangladesh #SaveCHT @amnesty @BBCBreaking @AlJazeera @TheDavidBergman @Keir_Starmer @nomhossain

#Bangladesh makes a step towards ensuring #humanrights. The Interim Government has formally acceded to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances - #ICPPED. This is a significant move to combat impunity & ensure justice.
Replying to @WGEID
@WGEID welcomes #Bangladesh on its accession to the #ICPPED. We do hope that the next step would be to recognise the competence of the @CED under arts. 31 and 32, allowing the people of Bangladesh to fully benefit from today's decision of their interim Government.

This is a very credible place to send money if you want to help people in Feni 🇧🇩
Feni has recently hit by the worst flood in the history of Bangladesh ever. Meanwhile, the flood situation in several districts, including Noakhali, Cumilla, Khagrachari, Lakshmipur are deteriorating rapidly. Heavy rains and upstream water from India have inundated vast areas of various districts of Bangladesh. Millions of people are in dire straits. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 - 𝐘𝐏𝐅 has taken this initiative to provide necessary relief assistance to the flood victims. If all of us come forward from our end, we may be able to help a large number of people. We will allocate the funds directly to our Grassroots Envoy, Kazi Muhibul Haque, who is based in Feni City. He will oversee the distribution of essential goods to those affected by the floods. By working closely with the local community, he will try to ensure that the aid reaches those most in need efficiently. 🚨🚨Bangladesh: Media reports state that security forces have been raiding neighbourhoods and conducting mass arrests, targeting students and opposition activists. Whereabouts of some of those arrested are unknown. Several student leaders have been arrested from the hospital where they were being treated for injuries. In a virtual press conference held yesterday, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement alleged that over 3,500 students have been detained across the country. Amnesty International urges the authorities to immediately stop the blanket hunt for students and opposition members. Peaceful protest is not a crime. #ProtectTheProtest #SaveBangladeshiStudents

79 percent of Vietnamese population uses internet compared to 39 percent in Bangladesh, according to the latest World Bank report. The percentage is higher than Bangladesh in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan too. We still have to travel a long way before we can call ourselves Digital Bangladesh. Improving digital skills of mass people, and making affordable and fast internet available to everyone should be the immediate priorities.
