this page is for entertainment purposes only. see below for my threads ♡
regarding that ai audiobook site it was clearly an old scrape because the metrics on my fic was from years ago. for reference one of my dc fics was 998 kudos before the shutdown and on that site it was at 400+

Finding any sort of enjoyment, peace, catharsis, laughs, satisfaction etc etc from reading my words is more than enough for me. It’s a fucking gift. Fanfic authors and readers are the backbone of fandoms; we have to stop tearing each other apart, or fandom will collapse and die.

Fandom has become so capitalistic and corporate and influencer-pilled. It has always been & always will be an opt-in experience for both writer and reader. I do not impose any expectations on my readers for engagement because they don’t impose any expectations on me for content.

Download my stories, share them with your fandom community and friends. I’m honored and delighted and touched that anyone has downloaded and shared them around. To me it’s a compliment of the highest sort that you found something in my work that made you want to save a copy.

Taking a moment to say how grateful I am as an ao3 author for the folks who take the time to read my words whether they leave kudos or comments or not. I’m thankful for each and every one of you. Comments & kudos are wonderful, but there is no price of admission to read my fics.

Jujutsu society really is inherently incestuous…Inbred clans, lauding supposed genetic superiority, multigenerational abuse & maladaption…No wonder even the protagonists compensate in odd ways. No wonder Yuuji grows so cynical. He learns how easily people fall into patterns.

In my undergrad thesis many many years ago, I included lurkers (folks who don't interact much, not even to leave a comment at times, but read fic or look at fanart, watch edits/fanvids, etc.) because fandom has long seen lurkers as key members of the community.
Lurkers were never seen as bad, they were just doing community quietly.
In fandom, you give what you can give and your participation or role is never something that is set in stone. You can be a lurker one day and organizing a Christmas challenge the next. You can be less active today and more in the future. And so on.
Do not let people make you believe that you have to be productive and/or visible all of the time to be seen as a "real fan".
But also, do not forget that when you're part of a community, you're not alone, and giving people small kindnesses, like liking a post or even just sending up a positive emoji when you see something you've enjoyed is part of maintaining a healthy, happy community. It does make a difference.
(That said, please don't shake people down for positive interactions. We're all humans trying to find joy on a planet in a polycrisis.)
Remember: You love the thing, you show it in your own way, and belong to a community. Do all that and treat people kindly, and that's all you need to be a fan. Do not lose the fun and whimsy!
Something that does get me is that every time I make a fic post and it blows up I get people in my comments talking to me like I'm not an author, and instead I am some malicious third party that couldn't ever understand the hardships of being a fanfiction author on the internet
Replying to @Aiyelers
NO ONE is talking about profit, authors want to >>TALK TO THEIR READERS<<about things they love. About how they view characters, about what they liked in our writing. It's literally the most human thing EVER. The way you ppl misinterprete authors as attention gluttons is PITIFUL

writers hating their readers this much will kill fandoms actually

i am realising how many people don't actually enjoy creating and suddenly the amount of ai in fan spaces starts to make sense
