For workers (who often live in surrounding suburbs) neither option is very useful. This is where revamped bus networks around airports can be helpful. Western Sydney is well ahead of Melbourne (and Brisbane) in that regard. melbourneontransit.blogspot.… #springst

Unpopular opinion: What matters is not just whether there is a train to the airport, but whether it's easy to get to the airport by transit. That's something we can measure. Example: Melbourne's frequent airport bus is far more useful than Brisbane's infrequent airport train.

Craigieburn and Upfield timetables now up. aparet from the widely advertised elimination of 30 and 40 minute frequencies Craigieburn now gets extra interpeak services reducing 20 minute offpeak intervals to around 11pm-2pm.
