Two domain extensions. Two record-breaking sales. š
š Shop.com - $99 MILLION
A new record for the highest publicly reported .com domain sale.
š Lambda.si - $100,000
The first publicly reported six-figure .si domain sale, completed by DomainBooth in partnership with @AtomHQ.
One sale demonstrates the extraordinary value of premium .com domains. The other marks an exciting milestone for the emerging .si market.
Different extensions. Same principle.
Once again, George breaks the news with supporting docs, Shopify paid $99m for Shop.com. This is now officially the highest-reported domain sale. freespeech.com/2026/11/03/brā¦

We're there. A great dot-com domain is a seven-figure asset. A special .com can be 8.
When business owners look back and do an "if I knew what I know now" exercise, one of the answers is always,
"I wish I had bought my brand dot com back then"
Domains are not the housing market. There won't be a pullback in dot-com pricing. If a domain was a tree, the long-term owners are sitting in the shade and the people waiting are getting burned by the sun every day. Because it grows every day you own it.
Want a domain and don't think you can get it or afford it? You don't know until you try. Let's get you a great domain. I'll plant it for you

Bouncy.com just sold for $125,000.
The seller ran one Appraise.net appraisal; it auto-built the listing (title, description, strengths). A buyer typed the domain, landed on the page, and negotiated the deal from there.
Your appraisal is your sales page. Full case study: appraise.net/bouncy
We just bought the domain Stan.Com for $750,000 š³
When I first started Stan, I was so broke that the best domain I could afford was StanWith.Me š«
Eventually we got Stan.Store and that was a huge win.
Stan.Com tried to charge us hundreds of thousands of dollar. But we were a tiny company barely making $500k.
I still remember thinking, "lol I will never pay that for a domain".
So there's something really special about this moment.
The most special part though is that Alyssa Williams, our first ever business hire, got the deal done.
Alyssa's been with us in the trenches since day one, back before we had anything.
It's a beautiful full circle moment for all of us.
It might sound silly, but I'm realizing buying Stan.Com is a beautiful symbol of grinding for years, and then seeing the fruits of your labor manifest into the real world.
So this is your reminder that you can start with a shitty domain like StanWith.Me, no money, and tons of people doubting you.
And one day - you can have an incredible team, incredible mission, and a 4 letter .com domain ;)
Onwards and upwards Stan team!

I believe that we may be entering the largest parabolic rise in domain name values in their entire history of existence.
We have probably just entered the 3rd inning (of 9 innings for those who don't know baseball).
There will be an ai bubble break, there will be company failures at scale, there will be rough patches of illiquidity...
But if you look at ahead 5 years and probably 10 years, domain names are going to be the single most valuable asset on MOST companies balance sheets.
I say that for 2 reasons:
1. The importance of your domain name will rise exponentially as trust and brand become the only distinguishing and competitive factors in most businesses, particularly consumer facing businesses.
2. Those companies that do NOT have a strong brand and comparable domain name will likely fail in those time horizons, giving way to survivorship bias. Thus MOST companies that still exist in 5-10 years will have extremely valuable domain names, and those will likely be their most valuable assets.

If I could give the world one giftā¦it would be the ability to make better decisions.
Nothing will have a greater impact on your future than the decisions you make.
No matter how big. No matter how small. Every decision moves you closer to your destination⦠or farther away from it.
Are you a businessman... or a scientist?
I know the difference.
Do you?
A scientist seeks proof.
A businessman seeks opportunity by making the best decision possible with incomplete information.
Lee lacocca once said:
"If I move with 75% of the facts, I usually never regret it."
That's because business rarely gives you complete information.
Every important business decision I've ever made started with an educated assumption.
Not a guess.
An assumption built on experience, observation, logic, pattern recognition, and common sense.
Then I tested it.
Then I calibrated.
Imagine you're driving down a road and come to a T-intersection.
You can turn left.
You can turn right.
You don't know which way is correct.
Pick one.
If you're right, you've saved time.
If you're wrong, you simply turn around and you're going to be right.
The only guaranteed mistake is sitting at the intersection waiting for proof.
Because thatās a decision too.
Itās the decision to stay stuck.
And in my book, nothing is worse than being stuck.
That's the difference.
Do you know which mindset you're using?

That is a brilliant question. Honestly, I feel the address bar is already a relic. We already rely entirely on search bars, copying complex strings, and clicking links, handling IDNs and foreign characters without any friction.
If we look at where the web is headingāespecially with AI agents making connections, scraping data, and executing transactions autonomouslyāthe criteria for what makes a domain "premium" completely flips.
Machines and AI models don't have human memory constraints. They don't care if a domain is a catchy 4-letter dictionary word. To an AI agent, a domain is simply a verifiable identity anchor and a semantic vector.
Take a name like sustainable-energy-audit-swiā¦. For a human typing on a keyboard, thatās a nightmare. But for an autonomous AI agent tasked with finding, verifying, and booking a localized service, that long string is actually a highly precise, keyword-rich metadata goldmine.
"The context is in the URL, not only on the page."
So, I believe domains will become more valuable than ever, but their fundamental purpose is shifting. They are transitioning from being "billboards for humans to remember" into "trust and identity anchors for machines to verify."
The digital real estate of the future is about context and authority, not brevity. I'd love to hear how you think the traditional domain valuation models will adapt to this agentic web!

The transition from UberCabā¢com to Uberā¢com is one of the most famous brand evolutions in startup history.
A 2010 cease-and-desist forced the company to drop the word "Cab," leading to a deal where Uber traded 2% equity for the premium domain.
This move did more than solve a regulatory problem; it removed the category ceiling from the brand, allowing it to grow from a ride-hailing app into a global logistics verb.

A domain name is one of the few assets you can buy once and benefit from every single day.
It appears on your website.
Your emails.
Your marketing.
Your business cards.
Your social profiles.
While ads stop working when you stop paying...
A great domain keeps working.
That's the power of owning the right name. š

A renowned Chinese AI firm Z. ai has mounted its Z logo atop its skyscraper, much like how Elon Musk rebranded Twitter to X after acquiring it and put the X logo on the rooftop of its office building. Shares of Z. ai in Hong Kong surged 32% today, pushing its market value close to 100 billion US dollars.
If you also wish to own premium domain names like these, H.ai and Y.ai are now available for acquisition.

Here's the story of how we paid $0 for a domain worth ~$250k
So at the beginning of the year we explored renaming in order to launch 2.0 of our product Mora.
We explored different options and we ended up falling in love with the name Mora.
But a premium 4-letter dot com can be very very expensive!!
We're just a young startup. We don't have that kind of cash. We need to hustle!
I spent hours writing down options, asking Claude how to negotiate, etc. And then i thoughtā¦
Wait what if we did it in exchange of equity? We had great early traction so far so it didn't hurt to ask.
The folks we talked to about it thought we were crazy! Including our domain broker (shout out Justin!)
We presented the option to the seller who ended up being open to it (luckily!)
We went through some diligence and ended up closing it!
I think a great name compounds the same way a great product does. So this effort was worth it!

āIām fully aligned and excited to build.ā
That is the common thread among almost every builder and founder I have partnered with.
A few people have asked why I didnāt simply hire developers and build these businesses myself.
After reading hundreds of applications and working with dozens of builders inside the Beanstalk Challenge, Iāve realized something.
You can hire talent.
You can hire skills.
You can hire developers.
But itās very difficult to hire vision.
And itās impossible to hire passion.
The common thread among the builders isnāt their technical ability. Itās their energy.
Almost every one of them says some version of the same thing:
āIām excited to build.ā
āIāve already started.ā
āI canāt wait to get going.ā
Theyāre not watching the clock.
Theyāre watching the results.
Theyāre not bringing labor to the table.
Theyāre bringing their ideas, creativity, vision, and obsession.
If I hired people, Iād be limited to my own ideas.
I donāt have the creativity, expertise, experience, or passion to come up with hundreds of different businesses across hundreds of different industries.
The builders do!!!
Each builder sees opportunities I donāt see.
Each builder brings knowledge I donāt have.
Each builder brings a vision that is uniquely their own.
Thatās why the Beanstalk Challenge works.
Instead of one personās vision, Iām getting dozens of unique visions from people who genuinely want to build something great.
Thatās the secret behind the Beanstalk Challenge.
I wasnāt looking for employees.
I was looking for founders.

One final update.
@MorganLinton has accepted the 5th and final seat on the Beanstalk Challenge judging panel.
I couldnāt think of a better person to complete this respected and trusted group.
The panel is now complete.
The builders will build.
The judges will judge.
And the results will speak for themselves.
I want to personally thank:
@MorganLinton
@AndrewRosener
@Castello_Bros
@AmmarKubba
@RonJackson
for accepting this responsibility and for the confidence theyāve shown in what weāre building.
Their willingness to lend their time, expertise, judgment, and credibility means a great deal both to me and the industry, and Iām grateful to have such a respected and trusted group guiding this process. š
Welcome aboard, Morgan, and thank you to all of our judges. š±

Important Beanstalk Challenge Update:
I have decided to remove myself entirely from the judging process.
The winners will be selected by an independent panel of 5 respected leaders from our industry.
I am pleased to announce the first 4 judges:
Andrew Rosener @andrewrosener
David Castello @Castello_Bros
Ammar Kubba @AmmarKubba
Ron Jackson @DNJournal
One additional judge will be added in the coming days.
The purpose is simple.
I donāt want the winners chosen by me.
But the panel of esteemed judges was.
I want the winners chosen by people whose judgment, experience, and integrity are respected throughout the domain industry.
Itās about builders.
Itās about entrepreneurship.
Itās about execution.
Itās about turning opportunity into reality.
The builders will build.
The judges will judge.
And the results will speak for themselves.
Let the games begin.
Don't believe me⦠Just watch!

The one thing history teaches us is that barriers get broken by the people willing to step up. Thatās it.
People either: step up, step back, or complain.
Most barriers are mental long before they are physical.
Yes, physical barriers exist, but even those are usually overcome first by mental strength.
Physical strength alone is never enough.
Olympians may be champions because of their physical gifts, but what gets them over the finish line is mental strength.
Willpower, Focus. Belief.
The refusal to quit.
Mental strength has proven throughout history to be one of the greatest forces humanity possesses. And when the Internet arrived, the people who won didnāt wait for permission.
They didnāt apply for jobs.
They assumed roles.
They simply stepped up and grabbed a tool.
They found a place to fit. A sector to plow. A direction to go. Thatās exactly whatās happening again with AI right now.
Some people are frozen in fear.
Those are the next generation of complainers being born.
Others are stepping into the future and building it.

Just acquired Mangalaā¤com.
This is exactly the kind of domain name I love.
In Sanskrit and Indian contexts, Mangala can mean something auspicious, and it is also associated with Mars.
But in Turkish, Mangala is also the name of a traditional strategy board game in the Mancala family.
One word.
Multiple cultures.
Completely different meanings.
One powerful .com domain.
I have always been fascinated by domains like this.
I own Seineā¤com, which is the famous river flowing through Paris, while āseineā is also an English word for a fishing net.
I also own Muscatā¤com, which is the capital of Oman, while Muscat is also a famous sweet and aromatic grape variety.
With domains that have multiple meanings, choosing the right development direction can sometimes be difficult.
But with Mangalaā¤com, the direction feels clear.
I plan to build it into an online game based on the rules of Turkish Mangala, with multiple language versions, and see whether it can become a game enjoyed by players around the world.
Maybe this will become my next Gomoku.com experiment.
And here is another reason I love this kind of project:
According to dotDB, āMangalaā is already registered in 52 extensions.
That means even if the development experiment does not work out as planned, the domain itself already has meaningful underlying value.
That is the beauty of Domain-Driven Development.
You start with a strong domain.
You build something real on it.
If it succeeds, you may create a valuable business.
If it fails, you still own a valuable digital asset.
Are there any other interesting meanings of āMangalaā that I missed?
Feel free to share!
