Political change does not always begin with a candidate. Often, the demand comes first.
Much of the debate surrounding @edwinsifuna misses this distinction. Across history, public frustration has often created the conditions for new political leadership to emerge. People recognize what they want to change long before they agree on who should lead or how that change should happen. Kenya is no exception.
@johnallannamu’s reflections on Kenya’s political past and future are particularly relevant here. So are the experiences of Serbia and Brazil, and Ben Rhodes’ observations about the role of ordinary citizens in shaping political outcomes. Different countries and circumstances, certainly, but an important lesson runs through them: political movements are built around public concerns that often extend well beyond the ambitions of individual politicians. Kenya’s @LindaMwananchi_ belongs in that conversation.
Sifuna’s candidacy is especially interesting in this context. He brings experience in Parliament, party leadership and national politics, while maintaining a connection with Kenyans who want a different political direction. That combination matters. He knows the political establishment, understands its workings and has demonstrated a willingness to challenge it publicly. His presidential bid now puts those qualities to a larger test: bringing people together, setting out a credible agenda and demonstrating that the promise of change can be matched by the ability to deliver it.
Support for Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi rests on that possibility. Kenya’s appetite for change is not new, and no single politician can claim ownership of it. The question is whether this moment can produce leadership capable of meeting the expectations behind it. That is where the debate deserves to be.

I don’t know if those who are categorical that there can be no miracles in elections are following the happenings in Serbia and Brazil. Im super encouraged for 2027 because we in Kenya pray to the same God. Inshallah we get ours too.

A part of the answer to your challenge lies in your description of @edwinsifuna . A blank slate/ new start/ break with the past is what many who support him are looking for. Kenya is in an argument between its past and its future; credentials that speak to status quo aren't the credentials his supporters respect.

Just checked your profile and saw you actually studied at Harvard. The intellectual distance between your education and your thinking is so wide, a person could die trying to jump across.
SIFUNA has NEVER done a SINGLE thing of CONSEQUENCE in his entire life. Not a thing as a lawyer, ODM SG, or senator. Zero, zilch, nada. He’s a blank slate. I challenge anyone to name one thing. Apart from running his mouth. He lost every election until Baba made him Nairobi Senator. Now he’s hiding under Gachagua’s skirt. Prove me wrong. I challenge you.
Why do intelligent people, with good data and serious training, keep missing what's coming?
