Need a bit of light news? Meet this Oregon teenager who strapped 12 boats on top of each other and floated down the North Santiam River.
Why? To set and unofficial "boat stacking" record, of course. And for “tomfoolery and shenanigans.”

So this is how it works in Salem?
Vote the “wrong” way and leadership pulls you off the floor?
During the HB 4145 work session, Rep. Tran voted NO.
Mid–roll call, a recess was called by Rep. Kropf.
Fifteen minutes later she came back — visibly shaken, reportedly in tears — and changed her vote to YES.
That’s not persuasion. That looks like pressure.
Derek LeBlanc has already filed a conduct complaint with the Legislative Equity Office — a Committee Rep. Kropf himself serves on.
If you believe every legislator is free to vote their conscience, you might want to watch that clip again.
The deeper you look in Salem, the uglier it gets.
Oregonians deserve answers about what happened during that 15-minute recess.
Email Rep Kropf now at: [email protected]

Oregon’s outdoor economy is a $17 billion engine that supports thousands of paychecks across our state. From guides and outfitters to small-town businesses, these jobs depend on clear, commonsense protections.
The recreational liability bill is ready, and the votes are there. It deserves a simple up-or-down vote, not to be buried in committee while families wait.

The message is simple: the votes are there, the bill is ready, and it deserves a simple up-or-down vote.
Oregon’s outdoor economy is a $17 billion industry supporting thousands of jobs. Policy doesn’t protect a single paycheck if it never makes it out of committee.
Protect the jobs. Protect the outdoors. Let’s get back to basics and keep Oregon working.
SB 1593 and HB 4071 are currently being held in committee. Use the information below to contact committee members and respectfully ask them to move these bills to the floor for a vote. #ORPol #ORLeg #OregonOutdoors #OREconomy

A lovely section of the #OwyheeRiver just upstream of the Snake River confluence provides close-to-home recreation on parcels managed by @BLMNational; some in Congress want to sell these lands and we appreciate that @RepBentz has said no.

Another casualty of doing business in Oregon. When is it enough Democrats? This is ridiculous…
The insurer for some of Oregon’s largest ski resorts is leaving the state, saying it’s become too costly to do business here because of how state law handles liability when skiers suffer injuries.
Eric Morgan, who manages claims for Safehold, told lawmakers in written testimony last week the company insures ski resorts in 37 states. Oregon, he said, is “an extreme outlier” that accounts for 20% of its nationwide losses up to $1 million and 50% of its losses between $1 million and $10 million.

Trial lawyers are destroying our recreation industry, and SB 1196 the way to stop it. Contact the Senate President below to tell him to get this bill on the floor, and contact your Senator to vote “yes” so we can continue to protect Oregon outdoors:

Even with a life jacket on, it is difficult to escape from the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, which has a drop of just one meter.
This shows how dangerous the river can be.
So what should be done in such a situation?

This is a good game. Execution at a high level. Stroud showing some outstanding poise. Not a fan of this officiating

Yes, it would’ve been a first down if it wasn’t for the convenient legal motion or the pass interference or the holding or whatever else they can come up with

Great way to ring in the new year with renewed momentum to get our legislation across the finish line to protect the Owyhee and ranching way of life in Eastern Oregon. I share the optimism and will be working every step of the way to make it happen. capitalpress.com/ag_sectors/…

Tomorrow, in @NatResources, I will discuss the protection of the Owyhee Canyonlands—a result of hundreds of hours of negotiations and collaboration by those who live, work, and recreate in Malheur County.
Thank you, @RonWyden, for your personal involvement!
Tune in tomorrow: youtube.com/live/z2MaWO6m-8s…
Having @RepBentz working w/me to stand up for the special people/places in & around the Owyhee is encouraging. While I can’t support his current bill, I look forward to tomorrow’s hearing as another significant step to pass a final product for Malheur County & the Owyhee’s fans.
