32 years ago today I registered the @L0phtHeavyInd class C. I got the email from ARIN, sent the class C address to our ISP, then got the first packets routed over our 56K modem to our 486 linux box. When those first packets come through the whole room exploded with chants of, "We on da backbone!" Then came one of the first hacking resources on the web, shell accounts, a bbs, webcams, and lots of shenanigans. You can see an archive of the website here: gbppr.net/l0pht/l0pht.html

Replying to @dildog
@dildog and @medus4_cdc are killing it together. Awesome balance of his technical deep dive and how he wrote the code and her vision, communication, and inspirational messaging of why @VeilidNetwork ‘s existence is so important for the human right for privacy.

"Hardcore" engineering at Twitter 2.0: "To address extreme level of data scraping & system manipulation", Twitter added rate limiting on the backend which seems to have created a retry storm from the client that DDoS'd Twitter for at least eight hours.
