You spelled refugees wrong
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
You people are morons,
Samsung makes autonomous weapons.
And have for almost 20 years now.
That’s who you’re complaining about.
Privacy violations? They’d happily end us.
The cameras the cheapest robot part
Replying to @robotsdigest
If the arm can do this without cameras, it's a cheaper robot to sell into factories. I want to see how it does when the parts come in a little off from where they're supposed to be
Eminent domain, So they lose all the land.
Turn it into a new zoning Finland
.. with a 9MW max use per hectare.
… and
Up charge their carbon use consumption
Invite their competitors
To do what?
With the explosion of Microduck and Reachy Mini, we'll need more people to join the @pollenrobotics @huggingface teams in all functions.
If you're excited about democratizing robotics AI with open-source, my DMs are open!
Shocking, You VC funded vibe coders
We've had a security incident at TypeSafe, please see @CompleteSkeptic's message below.
Yea this business model by amateurs is pretty fucked now.
Your mileage may vary.
holy shit, opencode got hacked and it's officially fu*ked
'a large scale distillation attack, 1.4% of console users hit'
and people got drained, one user says his openai and anthropic keys, used only in opencode, ran up over $400 overnight, another replied $1,700. who compensates that?
every one of them had external providers linked, and it's still ongoing
this is the warning for all of us, build your own harness and keep your keys on your own machine, don't park them in anyone's console anymore
If you wanna know why I didn’t mention Elixir; That’s simple,
If you know Erlang, you already know that.
If you don’t know Erlang/OTP, the chances of you not being a shitty Elixir programmer.
Is a snowballs chance in hell
This language is Adult Swim
Not for wannabe vibers
Replying to @mikehostetler
I would prefix this with build everything without OTP first, by reading the late Joe Armstrong’s book
Then understand what the behaviours do in Erlang
After you have written everything yourself once
Then proceed to frameworks; which aren’t needed.
Because OTP beats them all!
Supervisors? You are almost at Erlang AI
New #NVIDIA paper: what if robots never had to wait for their own thoughts?
TacitVLA learns to reason in chain-of-thought or subtasks, but its actions never read them.
→ Keeps the gains of reasoning at up to 3.4× lower latency on 4 benchmarks, and tops RoboMME and RMBench 🧵👇
We rewrote openclaw in a stream processor I released in 2013
400k to 14k , lines of code, before & after
I like to say if you put your code in the right place, you don’t need too much of it.
Don’t just code for speed, do that later, code idiomatic for the security/complexity.
The reference is irrelevant
Replying to @mikehostetler
There's a long history of how this became a problem with smalltalk systems that would be good reference for people looking at how they can avoid mistakes from the past.
We’re just back to Cybernetics.
Admit it
You can't solve real-world physical tasks through autoregressive sampling alone. The physical world is entirely unforgiving to hallucination or approximate pattern matching. If we want actual autonomous robotics we have to engineer causality and discrete reasoning back into the loop.
Biwei and the team at Aether AI is doing exactly the kind of foundational, non-consensus work the field actually needs right now.
