zero1cine 2.0 is here! 🔥
Since 2023, we helped audiences discover high quality AI films, and the artists behind them. This year we got 91K visits, and growing!
It was time to bring some cool updates and improvements to the project, let's take a quick tour:
WHAT'S NEW? 👇🏻
One more prompt. Or one more way to avoid deciding? Creative persistence matters, but another batch is only useful if you know what you are testing.
Feeling stuck does not mean you have run out of ideas. Research on human ideation supports that distinction. It does not prove that endless AI generations improve a film.

8 films that make you slow down.
Start with Paterson (2016), Little Forest (2018) and Still Walking (2008): poems between bus stops, food with the seasons, family history hidden in small talk. Quiet films with plenty going on beneath the surface.
After Life (1998) asks which memory you'd keep forever. The Straight Story (1999) takes the scenic route on a lawnmower. Into Great Silence (2005) listens to a monastery. Columbus (2017) finds feeling in architecture and the space between people.
The Scent of Green Papaya (1993) makes rain, insects and kitchen rituals feel worth your full attention.
Which film made you slow down and notice more?

You chose the tool. Who chose what it suggests?
AI can propose words, images and interpretations. Those suggestions arrive with training and design choices already inside them. Useful doesn’t automatically mean neutral.
One writing study used deliberately opinionated AI assistants. Participants’ views shifted toward the assistant’s position. One task, not proof about every model.
Influence matters. So does keeping the limits in view.
The task, the judgment, or both?

8 animated films that expand your imagination. Start with Spirited Away, Fantastic Planet and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. A strange world, an alien society, a life in brushstrokes. Three very different ways to make animation feel alive.
The Triplets of Belleville, Persepolis, The Red Turtle and On-Gaku: Our Sound. Almost no dialogue, black-and-white memories, a quiet island and a gloriously awkward band. Animation has room for all of it.
Waltz with Bashir follows fractured memories of war. Animation can do far more than build fantasy worlds. Which animated film stayed with you? Share this with a friend who loves cinema.
