Perhaps, in another universe, their story is about more than Reset, Bot, and Code.

It’s sad how many of the people who see the decline of Western civilization fall back into Christianity.
To me, Christianity feels like a psy-op designed over millennia to satisfy the craving to submit.
And “noble” lies are what got us into this mess; only truth can get us out.

A common sign that you are in an insane millenarian death cult is that you axiomatically convinced that the Apocalypse will happen within a few months, you are constantly on the lookout for signs that it may have started, you feel both fearful and *excited* about it, and you're constantly talking about it with your friends, who happen to *all* have the exact same set of beliefs.

The ideal outcome for science isn't a couple of labs using proprietary models and millions of dollars to crack trophy problems, it's to have millions of AI-aided human scientists who follow their curiosity and become way more ambitious

a decade ago, the peak of startup innovation was b2b saas. and now startups are fully launching rockets and curing cancer
feels like we’re dreaming way bigger than ever before. and that this will only continue to be more and more true over the next decade

I always find it surprising when VCs in new tech waves get overly hung up on business quality / metrics (TAM, quality of revenue, margin, etc.).
Disruptive tech always precedes figuring out the business model. Hell, we didn't monetize the Internet for years.

How odd.
Fields medallist Hugo Duminil-Copin was deeply shaken by OpenAI’s release of more than 700 AI-generated mathematical manuscripts, including work on 16 questions directly relevant to his research.
“On Tuesday night, I cried, and it woke up my daughter”
“They have annihilated my field of research.”

Humanity now has a clear recipe for using AI to automate conceptual search, transformation, and verification towards new science.
Every scientist who has ever lived has been bottlenecked by the same constraint -- a finite ability to absorb, transform, and search humanity's accumulated knowledge.
AI can now tell us if an important open problem requires new ideas. Or wether the answer is latent in what we already know.
I argue this is the most significant change in the philosophy of science since the invention of writing ~6,000 years ago.

Ok, finished going through the OAI math list. It is bonkers and should be front page news around the world if folks understood what this meant. But if I am running strategy at a lab, #1 priority is "do this for medicine, oncology, battery efficiency, etc as fast as possible".

Single guys need to be joy maxxing. Hanging with friends. Grilling. Lifting weights. Eating steaks. Enjoying a hobby. Grabbing beers. Hitting on girls. Getting rejected (the right one won’t). Laughing about it. Wood working. Side hustling. Reading. Learning niche facts. Locking in. Working hard. Just fully living and enjoying their lives. It’s very attractive when you love your life. It’s very attractive when your life is full. Law of attraction baby. You attract what you are.
