converted the client to rust, ported the model to core ml. running native with about 3x performance closer to what i was actually trying to achieve which is generating photorealistic visuals of what the voxels are trying to represent
3.2gb diffusion model repainting a voxel renderer live on m5 mbp using webgpu. can't wait to come back to this in a year

In 1975, Steve Jobs told Steve Wozniak that Atari had paid them $700 for a game they built together. He handed Woz a check for $350. Atari had actually paid Jobs about $5,000. In the video below, Woz says: "Who cares about money? Well, you do care about friendship and honesty." Jobs was working the night shift at Atari. The company wanted a new arcade game called Breakout, built with as few chips as possible. Jobs couldn't build it. Woz could. He already had a full-time job at Hewlett-Packard, and Jobs said they had four days. Woz went four days with no sleep. Both of them came down with mono. Woz did it in 45 chips. Atari's own engineers were using 150 or more. He took his $350 and was happy with it. Jobs took the rest and went up to Oregon to buy into a farm. About ten years later, Woz read the real number in a book about Atari. By then the two of them had built Apple, and Woz was a multimillionaire. If Jobs had just told him he needed the money, Woz says, "I would say take it all." It wasn't the last time. Before Apple went public in 1980, Jobs refused to give stock options to Daniel Kottke, his friend since college, who had helped build the first Apple computers. Woz did the opposite. He sold his own shares cheaply to Kottke and other early employees who had been left out. One friend kept almost all of a $5,000 bonus. The other gave away millions. Was Jobs a genius who knew what business takes, or just a bad friend?

one word: @wavedash steam is dead, wavedash will eat their whole lunch, easy $50b valuation before 2035 the dinosaurs are gone, it's over, i'm just the first to say what everyone feels
Replying to @alightinastorm
Personal hot take : There is no business model for pc games outside of steam (maybe epic 🤢 🤮 ) Besides one offs like geoguessr or slither io It's not a tech issue, it's distribution issue

My first official plug-in for @OmarchyLinux has made it to the marketplace! :D Introducing Wisp 2.1.2 - your machine familiar that grows with you and helps you learn/navigate your new Omarchy machine. Thank you @hancore_linux and @dhh for making the plug-in process seamless and accessible. I'm new to the ecosystem and just wanted to make something that would be useful to folks like me. S/o @GreyforgeLabs @0xSero and @TheSleepyStudio also! link in the comments <3

Ya'll know i gotta give ya'll a VR POV of it to.... Flashlights working (bit bright) but reacting with the fog as intended. Hope ya'll aren't afraid of Heights.....field trip coming soon. 👽 🤝 🦍
You can literally build an entire Universe. No one's stopping you. Who needs destiny when you can forge your own path to the Sunrise. There's even a flashlight.. Just incase that guiding light along the path flickers out. It'll get you back on track. 👽

the decline of RTS is a decline in strategic thinking
the truth for RTS lovers is that we are a dying breed. kids today really only play 1st and 3rd person games, and shooters are the largest genre by far. blizzard is just making what people want RTS is an elegant genre for a more civilized age

One of my favourite "web" sites this year. @zerodhin is criminally slept on. he makes games that are actually worth your time (I've already sunk a couple hours into his snek game). Saved to personal.site :)

THE A TEAM IS ASSEMBLING 🪓 I’m beyond excited to finally say that we’re no longer a 1 man team. I’ve managed to onboard one of the most cracked @threejs devs I’ve ever come across. The talent is genuinely mind blowing, and I’m hyped to see what we can build together. Everyone, please give a massive welcome to @zerodhin 🫡
