This might be the first night where I did NOT have a candidate speech in an election newscast (a couple were recorded beforehand). They were being really cautious.
It's been a long day for Trump fans in Salina. They were in line early this morning for a 7:00 p.m. speech. The president was late, and didn't speak until 8:15 or so. He just finished, a little before 10:00.
Calling a pass, taking a sack, missing a long FG, giving up a 52-yard play, and not letting that guy score to give yourself more time... that kind of felt like a KU sequence.
Empty stadiums are not new. College football is an expensive, full-day commitment. If your team is lousy (my uni.), fans won't show up. If your team is not in the Big 10 or SEC (also my uni.), fans see nothing to play for these days.
