DataSabi isn't just about showing your internet usage. Each app gets its own page with hourly usage and a live speed graph. Your daily total sits in the tray. The goal is simple: make it easier to understand where your data goes. Linux users: which app eats most of your data?

Testing DataSabi this week: if you're on Ubuntu 22.04+ or Debian 12 and your data runs out faster than it should, I'd love your help. One day of normal use, then a short report. Reply with your distro and connection type.

Week 1 of building DataSabi in public. Goal: 10 Linux testers. So far: 3 volunteers, 1 completed report on Ubuntu 24.04. Biggest lesson: trust, not interest, was the blocker. So I listed what it installs: arkodeon.com/datasabi/docs/w… What makes you trust a tool that needs sudo?

Sunday question for builders: What's one thing a user told you that changed your product? I'm collecting answers before planning next week's DataSabi work.

Today, I’m launching Coddle Learn powered by @coddleai 🎉 Coddle Learn is an open-source learning platform built to help techies learn, build, share, and grow. Learning tech shouldn’t stop at watching tutorials or reading documentation. You should be able to follow a structured path, practise what you’ve learned, build real projects, and demonstrate your skills. That’s what I’m building with Coddle Learn. What can you do with Coddle Learn? → Explore structured learning roadmaps. → Take professional courses and practise with interactive exercises. → Work on coding challenges and real-world projects. → Test your knowledge with assessments. → Earn badges and free certificates. → Discover resources, tools, and opportunities. → Connect with other techies, share your work, and find mentors. → Use an AI learning assistant to figure out what to learn next and get guidance based on your progress. We’re building Coddle Learn around four things: Learn. Practise. Prove. Grow Whether you’re starting your journey in tech or already have years of experience, there’s room to keep growing. Coddle Learn is open source, and we’d love to have developers contribute, build with us, and help shape its future. This week I split my time between DataSabi and Arkodeon. The same lesson showed up in both: people trust what they can check for themselves. What made you trust a new tool or a new vendor?

Not ready to put DataSabi on your main machine? Fair. Try it in stages: 1. Install only the open-source service and read usage with dsctl 2. Build it from source 3. Try it in a VM first How: arkodeon.com/datasabi/docs/t… Which would you start with?

Our first DataSabi tester used it on Ubuntu 24.04 over home Wi-Fi from Friday to Sunday. Total: 6.6 GB. Would your weekend be higher or lower?

Huh! That's quite high. Do you use yours alone or share with family?

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is slow down, clear your head, enjoy the little things and give yourself room to breathe. Good morning ☀️

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you need to hear it. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Professor Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. A beautiful reminder that even in our darkest moments, hope is never entirely lost. Sometimes, we just need to remember to look for the light. ❤️

A small thing in DataSabi v0.1.6 I'm glad we shipped: Update checks run at most once a day, show which network you're on, and warn you before downloading on a metered connection. An app that watches your data shouldn't waste it. Which app's updates have eaten your data?

Shipping a product is exciting. Getting it into the hands of people who didn't build it is where the real learning begins. I'm testing DataSabi with Linux users to learn what works, what breaks, and what needs improving. Builders: what did your first real users teach you?

THE MYSTERIO LEXICON WORD OF THE DAY: PALIMPSEST Pronunciation: PAL-imp-sest Part of speech: Noun Meaning: Originally, a manuscript or parchment that has been erased and written on again, while traces of its earlier writing remain. Today, it can also describe something that carries visible layers of its past beneath its present appearance. AN EXAMPLE: "Every old city is a palimpsest, carrying traces of the generations that lived before us." A THOUGHT TO TAKE WITH YOU: Perhaps human beings are palimpsests too. We grow, change, heal and become different versions of ourselves. Yet the experiences that shaped us never disappear completely. Some memories remain beneath our smiles. Some lessons influence our decisions long after the moment has passed. We may rewrite our stories, but we don't always erase the chapters that came before. LET ME ASK YOU: Do you think people can truly leave their past behind, or does every experience leave a permanent mark on who they become? Mysterio #MysterioLexicon #WordOfTheDay

I found a bug in my own Linux app while using ProtonVPN. DataSabi counted the same traffic twice: once through the VPN tunnel and again through Wi-Fi. Fixed in v0.1.6. With a VPN on, each byte now counts once. VPN docs: arkodeon.com/datasabi/docs/n… Which VPN do you use on Linux?

patch today, but read your distro's own advisory too. the same CVE is scored very differently depending on how your system is set up teapawt.net/markgadala/status/2115…
🚨 CRITICAL: 9.8/10 LINUX KERNEL VULNERABILITY EXPOSES SERVERS TO REMOTE ATTACKS A serious vulnerability has been discovered in the Linux kernel's TCP networking code, potentially allowing unauthenticated attackers to crash vulnerable servers remotely. CVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free vulnerability triggered by specially timed network requests. ⚠️ Here's what makes this concerning: No authentication required. Remote attacks against exposed TCP services. Potential kernel memory corruption and server crashes. Multiple Linux distributions affected, including Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Amazon Linux. Ubuntu confirms that versions 22.04, 24.04, 26.04, and 26.10 remain vulnerable, with security fixes still in progress. The immediate demonstrated concern is denial of service. Remote system takeover has not been established, despite the critical 9.8 CVSS rating. Linux administrators should review affected kernels and apply vendor security updates as soon as they're available. 🔒 Get a free security assessment at lucidsecurity.si Source: ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2026…

half of 'my data finished fast' is apps you can't see. phones show per-app usage in settings, check it once. for linux laptops i built DataSabi to show it per app, by the hour teapawt.net/elormhood/status/21158…
The mtn 399 data is totally fraud.. new way to steal from the poor. Share your experience

Let’s see who is brave enough to answer this honestly. If someone treats people terribly, cheats, lies, and destroys lives but goes to church every Sunday and prays every day… Do you believe they are genuinely close to God, or are they using religion to hide who they really are? And before you judge others, ask yourself: Can someone be religious without being a good person? I want honest opinions. Don't just agree with the majority. Defend your position. 👇🔥
