.eth
naming sounds small until you see what people actually put behind a name.
- wallets
- profiles
- companies
- legal verifiers
- credentials
- an entire namespace handed out to millions of users
- agents that need to say who they are
- private transactions
- tokenized assets
- contracts
..and who knows what else in the future.
none of that needs anyone's permission.
it just needs to resolve everywhere.
i explain ENS to very different people regularly and no matter how often i do it, i'm still amazed by how much is underneath.
people see a .eth name and assume that's all there is.
but the depth, complexity and attention to detail the devs behind ENS have built into the protocol is really one of a kind.
Every real namespace spends on awareness and actually cares about its secondary market.
ENS acts like both are beneath them.
In their version of reality, market dynamics and sentiments don’t matter. “Community” is just supposed to keep paying renewals because they love the tech so much, and ENS is there to collect.
2022 was a free ride, digits did the marketing for them. They created more awareness than any campaign they could have come up with.
Now the metrics are a rounding error next to that peak. 3-digits are down ~98% from the top and the response is still “cool people already do it for free.”
Absolutely delusional.
Releasing 1-2 character .eth names would be the lowest IQ move.
ENS should keep them reserved and allocate only on a partnership / strategic basis.
As an @ENS_DAO Service Provider, we've published our plan for Year 2 of our work with the DAO.
Our goals range from improving ENS's governance contracts to bringing new features to the community, including 1 and 2 character .eth names and a referral program for ENS.
Here's our full plan and what we'll keep doing at ENS 👇
JPEG is secondary. The .eth names are the story.
Punk #1839 bought for 161.50 ETH ($394,422 USD) by 0xfe0e...fe17 (canonpunks.eth) from 0x0232...379f (2.punksotc.eth) cryptopunks.app/cryptopunks/…
.eth grails > .eth veterans
.eth is peak eth culture.
.eth veteran means they survived the cycles.
a grail .eth means they actually get it.
Attention spans are measured in seconds now.

One is bidding 10 eth on grails, the other one was buying when 3D floor was 25 eth + . Not even a funny comparison
I have people sliding into my dm and shilling me their ens
Here is your chance, comment below 👇shill it hard like it’s 2022
If I was in charge of @ensdomains marketing, your uber driver would have been asking you about your .eth collection by now
For anyone who has doubts about the digits effect, I suggest they read @avsa post from 2022

unpopular opinion (for now):
I believe as social trading catches on this will become obvious
009.eth as top holder > zoink.eth as top holder
culture-native flex > corporate celebrity
Replying to @Punk_2070
someone made a shitcoin called Ligma paired with Figma onchain stock
They then sent a large % of the supply to the CEO of Figmas public ens zoink.eth
So now he owns like 500k of ligma token which is backed by figma stock
009.eth retweeted
999Club weekly recap!
floor stays at 0.65E, only 27 listed items (less than 3% of entire collection)
if you want to buy a 0xx.eth domain you can buy 052.eth for 5.46E or bidding
no 00x.eth listed, it seems impossible to buy them atm
if you want to buy a pali, only 5 listed items, cheapest is 343.eth for 3.43E
In the recent weeks we have seen a rising of the sentiment around digits, ETH has +70% from the bottom, ENS is following
999Club has convinction on the power of digits, unique, fixed and universally acknowledged
the basement of our civilization
the perfect asset for our identity #ENS
