Baylor might be the biggest winner of the college basketball preseason.
Beat No. 1 Florida.
Beat No. 3 Illinois.
Scott Drew’s squad was picked 10th in the Big 12 preseason poll.
Exhibitions or not, the Bears are sending a message. Clearly not 10th.

Baylor is finally open and the Bears should be one of the more attractive openings this cycle. That means a deep candidate pool with established P4 head coaches, rising G6 stars and a host of high upside coordinators. si.com/college-football/12-c…

Some positive injury news for the Cowboys: George Pickens, Joey Porter Jr., Tyler Guyton, DeMarvion Overshown and Cobie Durant were all full participants in today’s practice
SO much of the attention/headlines that have encircled the Cowboys over the last few weeks (since right around the Ravens loss) have been completely self-induced by Brian Schottenheimer
At the very least he has to take a step back and realize that his public antics are damaging

The #Cowboys have their lowest rushing total for the first six games in a season since 1989 — the season they finished 1-15 before drafting Emmitt Smith. Javonte Williams addressed the situation in the locker room today:
“Yeah, it was kind of surprising, but I mean, I know how good of a team we are, how good of a running team we are. We're gonna get back on track. We just we just gotta communicate and just be more balanced.”

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has thrown over 60% of his passes short (defined as within 0-9 air yards) over the last 2 games.
The percentages were 61.9% against Tampa Bay and 63% against Green Bay specifically.
Prescott has had a short pass rate of at least 60% a total of 5 times in the Brian Schottenheimer era.
All 5 have been losses.

The Dallas Cowboys have not won a game of consequence in Philadelphia since 2018.
Dallas did win in Philly to close the 2021 regular season, but it was an insignificant game for both teams as they had each locked up playoff spots.
There have been some weird quirks with Cowboys/Eagles games in general lately, mostly due to quarterback injuries, but still interesting that Dallas hasn't won there with stakes involved in a very long time.
And given the current state of things... hard to say that there are serious stakes involved Monday night, at least relative to the way other times have felt.
Dallas Cowboys DT Quinnen Williams has 6 tackles for loss in 2026. This is tied for the most among defensive tackles this season.
It is the most for a Cowboys DT specifically through the first 6 games of a season since Jason Hatcher (6 also) in 2013.

Dallas currently has a full 15 standard contracts but also an open two-way roster spot after its recent release of John Poulakidas.
I'm told Dusty May has a pre-existing relationship with Clayton after recruiting him in college. Clayton must clear waivers Wednesday at 5 PM ET.
The Mavericks have emerged a leading contender to land Walter Clayton Jr. when he clears waivers, @TheSteinLine has learned.

What makes it so much worse is it felt like the Cowboys made the right moves this offseason and were actually somewhat aggressive in acquiring pieces to improve off last year. But they don’t have the coach to get them there. They just can’t get it right
