HD Hyundai and Kiewit are planning a new American shipyard, with construction targeted for 2027 and full operations for 2029.
The plans include robotic welding, automated production and digital models to help organize the work. They’re also projecting up to 3,000 jobs, which gives some perspective on how much skilled labor a modern shipyard still needs.
One detail worth watching: they intend to pursue ship sections and modules for other U.S. builders, alongside commercial ships and Navy support vessels.
That could help relieve bottlenecks at existing yards. Adding places that can build major sections gives the industry more options for getting ships completed.
There’s still a lot between this announcement and delivering vessels, but bringing Korean shipbuilding experience together with American fabrication capacity looks like a promising approach.
BREAKING: America is getting a new robotic shipyard. HD Hyundai and Kiewit have announced plans to build a highly automated shipyard on an existing industrial site with deepwater access to the Gulf of Mexico (exact location undisclosed).
The shipyard will use robotic welding, digital twins, and automated production systems to build U.S. Navy auxiliary and commercial vessels.
Construction is targeted for 2027, with plans to create up to 3,000 American jobs at full capacity.

President Trump, you're hiring the wrong people.
You don't need a press secretary. You need me. I've buried better men than that whole room.

SPECIAL REPORT: Russian military victory over Ukraine is not inevitable. It is extraordinarily unlikely, in fact, unless Western support for Ukraine collapses.
There is simply no inevitable correlation between the relative size of combatants and the outcome of a war — particularly when the war is existential for the smaller state but not for the larger one, as is true today.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is nevertheless trying once again to breathe life into the myth of inevitable Russian military victory in order to persuade the United States and other supporters of Ukraine to compel Kyiv to surrender.
Ukraine, not Russia, has actually held the initiative in key sectors of the frontline for much of the year and has developed a number of ways of offsetting the overall Russian manpower advantage.
Russia’s population and relative (but diminishing) wealth will let Putin continue his war for a long time, to be sure. But Ukraine can also continue fighting for its existence as long as Western support continues.

I really want our relations – between Ukraine and America, and with all our other partners – to be strong, truly friendly, and without misunderstandings. Because without a strong America that cares about what happens in the world, the world would definitely be a worse place.
These days, people ask why Ukraine is speaking more openly and directly to the world. The answer is simple. We want others to understand us – societies, nations, as many people as possible. When people understand what is really going on, political leaders can take a stronger path – the one that can really bring peace closer. And peace is what we want more than anything.

The FBI continues to warn about two critical security flaws in PHP, a programming language used to build many websites and online services. Attackers could exploit these vulnerabilities to break into systems, putting sensitive information and business operations at risk. Security updates are available and should be applied immediately.
If you are a business owner or website operator, check whether your systems are affected. Contact your IT support team, website developer, or hosting provider for help identifying vulnerable systems and applying the necessary updates.
The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now:
➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated.
➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP.
➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation.
➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims.
For the latest information on these vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), follow PHP’s announcements on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.
