An #Eritrean newspaper editorial has highlighted 20 historical treaties, agreements and official declarations through which successive #Ethiopian governments acknowledged #Eritrea's territorial boundaries and sovereignty.
The article cites colonial boundary treaties, Ethiopia's recognition of Eritrean independence in 1993, the 2000 Algiers Agreement and the 2018 peace declaration signed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
It accuses Addis Ababa of repeatedly disregarding commitments it previously accepted, amid renewed tensions over Eritrea's sovereignty and Red Sea access.

Sudan has broken its silence. At a joint press conference by Military Intelligence, General Intelligence and the Foreign Ministry, officials said drones launched from Ethiopian territory have carried out 162 attacks on Sudan, killing more than 400 civilians and 102 soldiers and destroying schools, hospitals and fuel stations. For the first time, they also showed the flight routes from bases in Asosa and Bahir Dar along the South Sudan border.
