Marink Reedijk spoke previously about relishing the ‘tactical battles’ with his opposing manager in the dugout. 🧠 On Sunday, the #Hibs boss came out on top, with clever calls, flexibility and trust winning the day. hibsobserver.co.uk/tactics/2…

4️⃣5️⃣💭 Probably not going to send… But what a half. Terrible goal to lose, this zonal marking needs a lot of work. Boyle off the left is working incredibly well. Similar to the Celtic game, a 4-4-2 out of possession, the only issue is Chaiwa dropping deeper to pick up Brage or their player dropping, that's pulling Mulligan in & if Hearts hit a switch, they are dangerous with McPake & Kingsley etc. We've looked strong in possession, Joe Newell is a completely different player - incredible stuff. As always, we need that extra goal, and we need to hold this line-up for as long as possible. Huge 45 ahead.

🥬📋 Glad to see Boyle back in, he's really important to that right side, gives us an out ball and can hopefully stretch things I'm behind. McGrath needs to step up after mid-week, hope to see him on the left, rather than playing behind Elding. GGTTH 💚
Marink Reedijk names his starting XI for this afternoon's Edinburgh derby at Hampden! 🔄 One change this afternoon; Martin Boyle returns from sickness, and replaces Nicky Cadden. Thoughts?

Marink Reedijk has only taken charge of four Hibs games – but signs of development can already be seen. ⤵️ From an evolving shape, to their pressing, Hibs are getting closer to the way Reedijk wants them to be playing. | ✍️ @9125analysis & @jackhwrites hibsobserver.co.uk/tactics/2…

With four games under his belt as manager, Marink Reedijk's way of playing football is becoming increasingly apparent at Hibs. ⤵️ @9125analysis and @jackhwrites explore the development so far under the Dutchman. ebx.sh/eerMQm

9️⃣0️⃣💭🧵 It's a point, but beyond frustrating the manner of losing the goal. We have away the ball far too easily after we scored & it was the sloppy play that sunk us. Overall, the 2nd half was better, we created chances but they didn't feel clear cut - whereas St.Mirren forced Sallinger into a couple of big saves. Despite me being desperate to see McGrath come into the team, he was anonymous. We were lacking another attacking threat, as Newell, Mulligan, Chaiwa as midfield was strong out of possession, but lacks creativity. Elding got lost in it all & I wouldn't be surprised to see the passing networks show a lot of the players ontop of each other… N Cadden was dangerous, thought he did well & the adjustment from Reedijk meant we got him into the game in decent areas. I think it's fair to question Reedijk’s subs / positioning of players. Newell could easily have dropped into the 6, instead Abdulai went in there & was sloppy on the ball. Newell did well further forward, but just pull him back, leave Abdulai higher. Then Klidje comes on & goes left, with Matondo through the middle…? Ramsay was struggling with N Cadden being direct, so why not let Matondo do the same? I know he's limited with the injuries we have but some of the positions the players are being deployed confuses me a little.

4️⃣5️⃣💭 Well, we haven't conceded in the first half 😅 Looks like a 4-2-3-1, Passlack deeper than usual and Mulligan more to the right of the midfield. Pressing fairly well for St.Mirrens build up play, which isn't too dissimilar to what we've been trying the last few games. Attacking wise…

…were moving it well from the back to the middle but still lacking that final ball. N Cadden with a couple of decent crosses, but other than that, not worked too much. Very even, but St.Mirren worry me on the counter attack!
