Criminology has spent decades warning us about the dangers of labeling offenders.

Get thee to a current copy of @ACJS_Today. @Jerry_Ratcliffe has a delicious take on the duplicitous application of language policing over at Criminology. If this pilot thing doesn't work out, he's got a real future with satire.

Congratulations to my mate and colleague Anthony Braga for deservedly winning the 2026 Stockholm Prize in Criminology with David Kennedy. If you don’t know why, read his book with Phil Cook. Smart, thoughtful, realistic.

Ron Clarke was one of the most influential criminologists of our time. He was also a valuable mentor to all of the students fortunate to cross paths with him at Rutgers. I will always remember how kind and supportive he was to me. He will be missed.
