This from a Kevin Haynes of facebook. The Truth About Karmelo—Let’s Set the Record Straight!
Enough with the misinformation. Let’s talk about facts.
1️⃣ It’s NORMAL for students from different schools to gather under another school’s tent. Karmelo had friends there—he wasn’t trespassing or looking for trouble.
2️⃣ The claim that one of the twins had never seen Karmelo before? A blatant lie.
3️⃣ No student has the right to remove another student from a SCHOOL-OWNED tent. The school owns the tent—not the twins.
4️⃣ Karmelo is a track athlete. The twins are NOT. He wasn’t even expecting to see them there.
Now, here’s what they don’t want you to know:
⚠️ The twins didn’t just “ask him to leave.” They tried to JUMP him.
⚠️ Before attacking him, they tried to take his belongings, BROKE his phone, and STOMPED on it.
⚠️ The twins are KNOWN BULLIES.
So ask yourself: If two 200+ lb attackers came at YOUR child, what would you expect them to do?
And yet, despite everything, the media is trying to destroy Karmelo’s name. They keep posting a picture of him with an AIRSOFT GUN—not even a real firearm—to manipulate public perception. Why? Because they want to paint him as a criminal instead of a victim.
Let’s talk about WHO Karmelo really is:
✅ A respectful, well-mannered young man
✅ A 4.0 student with multiple college offers
✅ A kid with ZERO criminal history—not even a blemish
✅ A son raised in a loving home by parents who taught him right from wrong
A life was lost, and that is tragic. But what’s also tragic is the way the media is twisting this story to fit their own agenda.
Karmelo defended himself against violent aggressors. That is NOT a crime.
Do NOT let the media race-bait you. Do NOT let them manipulate the facts.
JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL.
Hey @rolandsmartin can you look more into this story?

In the latest lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, former adult film actress Adria English alleges that, between 2004 and 2009, the music mogul forced her to take drugs and have sex with guests at his New York and Miami mansions. Adria English's attorney @ArielEsq305 tells @jessecordweber it's "inevitable" that Combs will face criminal charges "for all of the cases we now know to be public information." #Banfield

This is what happened next.
The Compromise of 1877 happened next... the Republican party made a deal with the Democrats—abandoning Reconstruction, kicking Negroes out of their congressional seats, and leaving Negroes to fight mob purges and lynchings alone.
Republicans and The Lily-white Movement
The lily-white movement was an anti-black political movement within the Republican Party in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was a response to the political and socioeconomic gains made by African-Americans following the Civil War and the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which eliminated slavery and involuntary servitude "except as punishment for a crime".
During Reconstruction, black leaders in the South gained influence in the Republican Party by organizing blacks as an important voting bloc via Union Leagues and the biracial black-and-tan faction of the republicans. Conservative whites attempted to eliminate this influence and recover white voters who had defected to the Democratic Party. The lily-white movement proved successful throughout the South and was a key factor in the growth of the Republican Party in the region.
Immediately following the war, all of the Southern states enacted "Black Codes," laws intended specifically to curtail the rights of the newly freed African Americans. Many Northern states enacted their own "Black Codes" restricting or barring black immigration. The Civil Rights Act of 1866, however, nullified most of these laws, and the federal Freedman's Bureau was able to regulate many of the affairs of Southern black men, who were granted the right to vote in 1867. Groups such as the Union League and the Radical Republicans sought total equality and complete integration of blacks into American society. The Republican Party itself held significant power in the South during Reconstruction because of the federal government's role.
During Reconstruction, Union Leagues were formed across the South after 1867 as all-black working auxiliaries of the Republican Party. They were secret organizations that mobilized freedmen to register to vote and to vote Republican. They discussed political issues, promoted civic projects, and mobilized workers opposed to certain employers. Most branches were segregated, but a few were integrated. The leaders of the all-black units were mostly urban blacks from the North who had never been enslaved.
During the 19th century, a small number of African Americans were elected to the United States Congress; all were members of the Republican Party. In the South, the party was a voting coalition of Freedmen (freed slaves), Carpetbaggers (derogatory term used by southern whites for recent arrivals from the north), and Scalawags (derogatory term describing those southern whites who had been loyal to the US during the Civil War). In the South, the Republican Party gradually came to be known as "the party of the Negro." In Texas, blacks comprised 90% of the party members during the 1880s.
The Democratic Party increasingly came to be seen by many in the white community as the party of respectability. The first Ku Klux Klan targeted violence against black Republican leaders and seriously undercut the Union League.
