Despite @ADB_HQ's no-coal policy, it still supported the #Jamshoro coal plant, which is a huge burden for Pakistan’s economy, people & ecosystems.

Coal development in Tharparkar has unfolded a massive decline in communities’ well-being, impacting their health, livelihood, mobility, and quality of life, not to mention the impact on air and water quality.
The people of Pakistan want affordable, safe, non-polluting, and sustainable energy for all. Big coal infrastructure projects have benefited foreign investors at the expense of Pakistani nationals by locking in ever-higher electricity rates.
In this regard, @ACJCE_Pakistan x @lok_sujag are organising a webinar to highlight the critical need for a move away from dirty coal to clean renewables. The webinar will see participation from energy, legal, and finance experts who will discuss how Pakistan can progressively advance towards a clean and just transition.
