*Natural Neon* / ALTERED CARBON x STATION 11 A nightclub dancer risks an illegal neural implant to pay for her brother's meds, but when it connects her to other lifetimes, she becomes the key to humanity's next evolution—and its extinction. #AgentsGuide #QuestPit #A #Q #S #D #U
The Agent's Guide to Natural Neon by Alicia Maskley. Upmarket Speculative / Dystopian. 90k Words.

For fans of... MPOV, Dark and Gritty Speculative Fic, Irrecerently Funny / Unhinged Characters, Vengeful Androids, Sex Clubs, Cults, Social Commentary, Astral Projections, Freaky Florida, Nonlinear Timelines. Influenced by I am a Strange Loop by Douglas Hofstadter and Journey of Souls.

The Pitch. At the glitzy CappaCale, Londyn dances for tourists, but when she volunteers for the club's black-market B2B implant to get some extra credits for her brother's medication, she starts seeing a horrific death that doesn't belong to her. Londyn's waking world is unraveling. Her boss/boyfriend is becoming more obsessive, her brother can't take anything seriously, and she might just be falling for the implant's inventor, Julian Butcher. As the mod pulls her toward her breaking point and social unrest seethes in Miami, Londyn must decide whether to surrender her mind to the system that has consumed everyone she has ever cared about, or tear herself free by inviting a violent, uncontrollable force into the mind she barely owns herself.

Been in a bit of a reading slump, mostly because I kept avoiding my current read—now it's due back at the library and I'm actually relieved. Idk, I really should have called it a DNF sooner. 😬

Why wait for New Year's? I'm so excited to work on my Day Zero list that I'm gonna start now! Time is a man-made construct. If you've never heard of a DZ list, it's 101 things to do in 1001 days, & I've done so many weird /fun tasks over the years because of it. Here we go!

Lol, other than lightly revising some short stories (which wasn't even a goal)... I've done jack this week. 😂😬

It's been ages since I've done a Day Zero list, but I think it might be just the thing I need to get me back into being more adventurous. So, right now, swimming with sharks is on the list. Go crazy or go home. 🦈😁

My personal "Mandela Effect" is that I'm certain the copy of "Antz" we owned was R-rated, but it's apparently only ever been PG.
