Advisory Board chair Drew Nelson OBE summarised the report and thanked the other AB members, as well as the defence primes, for contributing towards the preparation and recommendations.

🚀 Yesterday the APPG for Semiconductors launched its new paper, Defence and National Security: Delivering a Sovereign Semiconductor Capability, at a parliamentary reception bringing together ministers, parliamentarians, industry and defence leaders.

Semiconductors underpin everything from secure communications and intelligence systems to advanced sensing, electronic warfare and AI-enabled defence technologies. Our new paper sets out recommendations to strengthen UK sovereign capability and resilience.

The paper concludes that semiconductors should be recognised as a strategic national capability, critical to the UK's future security, resilience and economic growth.
