Weird how you don't say this about tax cuts and credits. Almost like you're just a weird little bigot
If you receive welfare, you shouldn’t get to vote because you'd be a single-issue voter on maintaining and increasing your welfare, plus voting for any party that promises to do this.

Trump wanted to create an Orban style autocracy & take away everyone’s liberties. But Orban knew u need to be popular when u put that into effect. But in just 20 months Trump failed so hard he’s more unpopular than any midterm Prez in 80 yrs. Chump just doesn’t have the cards. 🤣

Talarico is going to get curb stomped. I apologize for my harsh language but man the early voting data is absolutely brutal for the little guy. No wonder they have cancelled millions of TV ads. Texans didn’t buy his charade and now it’s all about doing damage control.

I see a ton of people like this seemingly take for granted that expressing support for new transphobic policies is how you persuade the public to be less transphobic, and I've still yet to hear any actual strong case for that whatsoever. It's just treated as obvious gospel.
These people are not interested in strategically persuading the public to support trans people more than they do, they want to do endless snarky dunks on their closest major-party allies for a relative handful of likes on X.com , just absolute loser behavior

This is illustrative of most Republican’s way of thinking: assimilation means voting and being Republican, and if you’re an immigrant that means wanting everyone like you deported
Replying to @xwanyex
To some extent a Democrat American is just an assimilated, undifferentiated, global citizen. It’s the Republican American that’s identifiable as an American. No particular reason to assume such people are evenly distributed throughout the world.

Even if we grant this assertion, we have to assume that those same people understand that the White House is meant to be a nicer and fancier place than the Cheesecake Factory.

Does Obama not understand that to most Americans the Cheesecake Factory is a very nice and fancy restaurant?

Well, you're a fucking awful human being. You say this shit behind a keyboard because if you said it in person, someone would knock all your teeth out of your skull and a jury wouldn't vote to convict.
I dislike Vivek but I agree. This is a rare trvke from him. This should be obvious- if Trump was molested I would never have supported him, because he would have been damaged and turned into a completely different person.

This is exhausting. Trump's approval rating is in the 30s and the culture moved past him. If you want to stand your ground on "Obama is an evil snob because he finds Cheesecake Factory distasteful" my advice is to write a piece about it in Compact in 2024. – at Ankara, Türkiye

Because, by comparison, Obama was a much better President than Trump, especially on Iran. I know- that completely discredits the hawk view of the world. And that's... really unfortunate for hawks. History has proven ya wrong, don't know what to tell ya.
The Iran War is a moral and strategic disaster, but politically, the problem is basically that now, the defining policy of Trump's political career makes Obama look great by comparison. Imagine if inflation was at Fed target and we were talking about immigration and DEI.

He had a lot of gold in his palace. I'm sorry you were born after the Iraq War 2, but when the soldiers went into his palace, the guy had put gold on everything. I know you really, really wanna pull on uno reverse card on Obama and call him racist, but that's just total bullshit
While we were focused on the Cheesecake Factory bit, it didn’t register with me that this statement by Obama is really racist. I mean, what does Saddam Hussein have to do with this?

The subtext is also that a male can permanently disempower and dominate a female by raping her because the female's "sin" of being a rape victim is far worse than the actual sin of rape.
The subtext of the Vivek ad - if you are abused as a kid, we will make sure it haunts you for the rest of your life and disqualifies you from a life of public service - is so bleak. There are already too many reasons good people don't run for office, and this will make it worse.

When conservatives say you're pretending not to understand their argument, what they mean is you are not equally epistemically loose about whether putting unrelated and fragmentary assertions in close proximity amounts to an argument.

How does this argument not apply to every single way the government serves people? As if you shouldn't be allowed to vote if your area has crime because you'd therefore only vote for parties that promise to spend resources reducing crime?
If you receive welfare, you shouldn’t get to vote because you'd be a single-issue voter on maintaining and increasing your welfare, plus voting for any party that promises to do this.

It's not a historic underperformance given that Dems already have 215 House seats (and that's even without factoring in the impact of GOP gerrymandering). If Dems net 20 seats they'll have the same majority in the House they did after the 2018 election.
Replying to @DavidGiglioCA
Go through the ratings. If Dems sweep the toss ups dems only net 20 seats. Thats a historic underperformance. You shitheads were wrong.

At $500k a pop, Obama would have to give a speech every night for the next twelve years to match the $2.2 billion in openly corrupt income Trump pulled in in 2025 alone.
Makes speeches for 500k a pop. Hasn’t eaten dinner that costs less than $250 in years. Has never been in a Cheesecake Factory. Undefeated at condescending to regular folks. Will always be known for a presidency that ushered in the Trump era to begin with.
