City Council is looking at approving the LARGEST property tax hikes in decades: 15% in 2027, 10% in 2028, 7.6% in 2029 and 6% in 2030.
This is simply UNACCEPTABLE.
There needs to be a huge shift in priorities.
Focus on infrastructure, public safety, and core city services. We need to make cuts in all areas that are not core responsibilities of municipalities.
I will be advocating for and proposing spending cuts as we get closer to the budget deliberations.
Many members of council ran on fiscal responsibility, it's time to keep our commitment to Calgarians and focus Calgarians tax dollars on needs, not wants.

It is with deep regret and sadness that the Calgary Flames organization acknowledge the passing of Peter Maher, the legendary voice of the Flames.

Hard to find words today. You won’t find anyone who was more universally loved than Peter Maher. Everyone loved Pete.
Everyone.
He made it impossible not to.
Kind and respectful to all, Peter truly was a legend and one of the finest men I’ve ever known.
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is about surrendering pride, embracing tradition & ultimately tempering hubris with wisdom, much like the source text.
It succeeds as a thoughtful piece of art and a technical masterpiece while avoiding the pitfalls of agenda driven filmmaking.

🔎 UPDATE #3 - MISSING CHILD - PARKER🔍
We continue to ask for the public's help in locating Parker, 11, and are providing an update on the extensive search and investigative efforts underway to find him.
⭐ Today, we are releasing a new image of Parker captured on CCTV footage on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:52 p.m., taken at the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E. We are hopeful this image will assist the public in recognizing him and provide new information about his whereabouts.
Since he was reported missing, the CPS has dedicated significant resources to locating Parker. Investigators, patrol officers and specialized units continue to work around the clock to examine every possible lead and search areas where Parker may have travelled.
Since Parker was reported missing:
➡️ Approx. 30 tips have been received and assessed by investigators.
➡️ Officers have reviewed, or are currently reviewing, approx. 50 hours of CCTV, residential security camera and dashcam footage.
➡️ More than 200 CPS members have assisted in the search effort.
➡️ Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries in all the surrounding communities and continue to canvass the area.
Investigators continue to identify, collect and review additional video footage and other evidence related to Parker's movements.
Search efforts continue in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, Greenview Industrial Park, Nose Hill Park and surrounding areas. Today, approx. 100 to 120 trained search volunteers coordinated through Search and Rescue Alberta are assisting with search operations in northwest Calgary.
Members of the public may continue to see a significant police and search presence in these communities, including our Air Support Unit, Mounted Patrol Team, Mountain Bike Unit, Canine Unit, patrol officers, investigators and trained search volunteers.
We remain grateful for the tremendous community support we have received and encourage residents to continue assisting in safe and meaningful ways.
ℹ️ There is nothing to indicate foul play is involved. Although this case does not meet the Government of Alberta’s legislated threshold for an AMBER Alert, we are working with our partners at the Missing Children's Society of Canada to issue an alert in hopes of locating Parker.
📣 Anyone with information about his whereabouts, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of Parker, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234 or by submitting it here: cps.ca.evidence.com/axon/com…

It's 2026 and Liberal perverts still think grown men walking around naked in public in front of children is an acceptable norm.
It’s 2026 and the Conservative Party of Canada is still actively debating Pride parades.

Avoid @TELUS.
Getting any help from @TELUSsupport is a total nightmare.
After days of effort talking with countless so-called customer service staff they've informed me that they cannot cancel a subscription on my account due to a technical error on their end.

I cannot express how much I dislike the St. Michael Prayer after Mass. it is so, so jarring to me every time.
To say nothing of the intent/content of the prayer, the language, and repetition and prominence given to it breed a sense of paranoia and cynicism. Instead of going out to evangelize the world, everyone is ready to go to war with it.
This prayer is totally fine in private devotion. It does not belong in the liturgy (or effectively within the liturgy, when it is said after the final blessing but before the recessional hymn)

The proposed changes; allowing weeknight concerts to run until 1 a.m. (with cool-down until 1:30 a.m.) and a smaller 3 dB reduction instead of 5 dB — were defeated. The original bylaw presented by administration will stand. Weeknight shows must now end at midnight (cool-down to 12:30 a.m.), with reduced noise and bass levels. This comes despite concerns from festival organizers, artists, workers, and even provincial/federal voices about impacts on Calgary’s reputation as a music city and jobs tied to the Stampede. What do you think — balanced compromise for residents or too restrictive for the city’s biggest party?
