Every infielder should watch this video. Youth all the way up to current pros.
Walls became elite in the field when he realized the very start of the play is more important than the end. He is doing at SS what PCA/Ceddanne do in CF. Tremendous thought and detail in his preparation.
No aspect of baseball relies more on "want to" than fielding, and Walls willed himself to become the best SS glove in the game.
Outstanding interview by @AramLeighton8 of @JustBB_Media and a six minute master class on fielding from Taylor Walls:

I asked Jose why he was laughing here, and he said he knew the pitch coming was a changeup and Adell could rollover, and hit a ground ball to the left side of the infield, so he took off to 3rd hoping he would pull Junior and Walls to the bases and open a hole in the infield 🥴

Pressure doesn’t introduce you to a different version of yourself. It exposes the habits you’ve been building all along.
One more opportunity for high school recruits! #NoMereBeast

What I just cannot understand with my little brain is this...
When teams are in MUST-WIN GAMES,
1️⃣They bunt (both for hits and sacs). Like, everybody does it (even the 30+ HR guys)
2️⃣They value putting the ball in play (esp w/ 2 strikes)
3️⃣Backside RBI singles are cool again
But, throughout the 162-game season, WHEN 2-3 GAMES get you *IN* or *OUT* of the tournament, most teams put no value on these things 🤨
Tell me why this is? 🤔🤔

The Milwaukee Brewers (20th in payroll) beat the San Diego Padres (7th in payroll) in the NLDS, winning all but one game! Time to lock out the players so we can create a league where small market teams can compete with big market teams.

6. People become what the room expects of them.
If the room lets a standard slide, it slides.
If the room corrects the small thing every single day, people stop believing small things are small.
My goal is to build an environment where success is inevitable.

#stlcards have been eliminated from the postseason race. What seemed inevitable entering the home stand is now official.
For the fourth consecutive year they will not see October, and that is the longest streak since the 1990s. #Cardinals #MLB

A team becomes great when people stop asking, “What’s in it for me?” and start asking, “What does the team need from me?”
