Some people are so deeply scarred by childhood trauma that they grow up with an almost pathological reservoir of negativity. Hardship is universal, but not everyone allows it to metastasise into bitterness. The tragedy is that some people grow old carrying wounds they never confront, never heal, and never even understand. They may live an entire lifetime without ever comprehending the meaning of love, let alone knowing what it feels like to be genuinely loved, understood, and cared for.
