The fact that despite the favorable environment for Democrats Abdul El-Sayed is running in this race is still a statistical tie points to his weakness as a candidate and the fact that in diverse districts and states there antisemitism is a losing campaign platform. A moderate Democrat like Haley Stevens would be wiping the floor with Mike Rogers.
Democratic primary voters may be moving to the left, but the U.S. electorate writ large clearly has not.

After her fiancé endorsed Abdul El-Sayed @RepHaleyStevens went on @CNN to tell @kaitlancollins that she’s still supporting @AbdulElSayed. @HaleyforMI is an experienced politician and while I’m in no way saying she’s lying, I found her to be very unconvincing. In August Stevens lost a hotly contested primary to El-Sayed by one percentage point.

Antisemitism (and there is no question that the ad is antisemitic) aside anyone who thinks that Israel is the reason why people are struggling to afford groceries is already voting for @AbdulElSayed so all it does is push undecided voters, particularly Jewish voters, who have historically been a reliable Democratic voting bloc toward @MikeRogersForMI and gets @cenkuygur a ton of free publicity.
