Final @apt_sepsis dissemination trip to West Nile & Northern Uganda. Great to see ongoing behavioural change lived out in consistent practice at sites resulting in fewer cases of #MaternalSepsis & fewer deaths. Site ownership of changes in practice & leadership are sustainable.
Looking forward to seeing how @apt_sepsis can save mothers lives from #MaternalSepsis across Africa as you, @jennymriches @dlissauer and @WHO share the results at #IMNHC2026
Glad to represent the @apt_sepsis Uganda team at the IMNHC 2026 in Nairobi.

The Active Prevention and Treatment of Maternal Sepsis (APT-Sepsis) programme team is disseminating the study findings as participants discuss ways to combat maternal sepsis. #APTSepsis #AtTheEquatorUG
Celebrating & sharing results for APT-Sepsis. Behavioural change saves lives reducing deaths & disability from maternal infections by 32%. Celebrating midwives, nurses, clinical officers, doctors together reducing the number of mothers who die each day in Uganda giving birth.
Reflecting on how to get key message of behavioural change, rather than training has been key. Seeing ongoing mentorship and coaching producing results has translated into fewer deaths, and fewer women staying in hospital for weeks with slowly healing wounds post sepsis.
Replying to @apt_sepsis
