We’ve had an increase in the number of authors having problems with publishing with Springer Nature. One example: It seems they require payments for colour charges even where the author is happy for the print version to be black and white. Do colour pixels cost more money? (1/4)

Aorta comes from the Greek word ‘aeiro’ which means ‘to lift, raise, be hung up’, from the ancient notion that the heart is suspended from the aorta. It shares etymology with ‘aorter’, the name of the shoulder strap used by Greek hoplites to hang their swords.

1. A year later, I want to share the worst experience I had in academia. A combination of scientific misconduct, peer review interference, bullying, abuse of power, and lack of credit in one horrible story. I won’t give names or reveal details that implicate person responsible.
