Don't get it twisted: School districts are considering layoffs, closing schools, and cutting programs because @GregAbbott_TX held hostage school funding and teacher pay raises for his voucher scam - a scam rejected by Republicans and Democrats wfaa.com/article/news/educat… #TxLege

Did you know that only 18% of registered voters vote in primary elections? That’s less than 1% of the state’s population! Your vote matters! Recent local elections have been decided by less than 50 votes. Today is the last day to vote early. Election Day is March 5.

The House is considering HB 1 which includes a voucher system that will cost $2B by the second year of the program - a significant new financial burden for the state while public schools remain underfunded by $14B+. Click here to tell your Rep to vote NO: p2a.co/SIYF6or

Some of you may be seeing all the money our Governor is spending on things like planes, private school events, and special sessions. Here’s the bottom line. #txed #txlege #vOUCHersHurt

Replying to @GregAbbott_TX
A move from California to Texas could cost $4K in public school funding. Many Americans are opting out. Texas is the #47 public education funding destination. California is #33. Texas will remain #47 thanks to a privatization agenda, lack of leadership, & $ ties to lobbyists.
