Meanwhile the health insurance industry raked in over $80,000,000,000 in net profits last year. Net profit meaning after they paid shareholders, employees, all costs, bought back stocks, etc. That's $80 billion in denied claims, over pricing premiums and copayments, telling you what procedures and medications you can and cannot have, and defrauding medicare and medicaid (ie taxpayers) for billions. Yet we still allow these companies to exist.

Over the long term, we shouldn’t have political gerrymandering in America, just a fair fight between Republicans and Democrats based on who’s got better ideas. But since Texas is taking direction from a partisan White House and gerrymandering in the middle of a decade to try and maintain the House despite their unpopular policies, I have tremendous respect for how Governor Newsom has approached this. He’s put forward a smart, measured approach in California, designed to address a very particular problem at a very particular moment in time.
We’re grateful to President @BarackObama for being in this fight with us and supporting our mission.
California is advancing a process that gives voters the final say on implementing new maps.
This is a fair and responsible response to Trump’s unprecedented power grab.
