A word of thanks to Joseph at the @CoventryCityFC to ticket office for explaining the STH home ticket nominations after I received error messages on the portal. still gonna be a bit of logistics to undo the nominees from existing accounts but situation is clearer now 👍 #PUSB

I had already planned my first goal back I was kissing the badge of this club who has supported me and my family through the darkest days of my career over the past 18 months. I absolutely adore and love Coventry City. All my close friends and family know that. I’m a fan and always will be and I will 100% apologise to anyone who thought the timing was bad as my first goal back just happened to be against my hometown club. Good luck to Frank and the boys for the rest of the season. PUSB🩵

No £80 replica shirts. No phones filming every second. No marketing telling you how special it all was. Nobody flying in from Singapore after paying £700 for a ticket.
Just lads getting there hours early and queuing forever at the turnstiles. Cold hands, muddy terraces, and all that mattered was bagging your spot on the wall. Football when it was simple. 👏🏻👏🏻

I'm a little younger than you, but for me, this 👇, sums up our core problem.

Try telling that to supporters of Wimbledon, Coventry, Norwich or even Everton who had the best team in Europe in 85. All denied European football.
Wimbledon might still be Wimbledon if theyd played in Europe, they were cheated.

Finally someone with a fucking brain that’s willing to call it out for what it is
The soft touch approach from cunts on prominent football podcasts has been utterly embarrassing
They were a nothing club and they deserve to have the book thrown at them

Kemi Badenoch makes a powerful personal statement about what it is to be black and British: “I don’t want to explain to my son... when we’re watching our
brilliant England team play football... that some people don’t
think our black players are English.
“I remember back in the day when Ian Wright and John Barnes
were playing... nobody was questioning whether they were
English.
We certainly didn’t have sitting MPs questioning whether they
were English.
We must not let these people take us backwards.
That is not the country we are.
Reform MPs are openly questioning people’s identity.
They are not like us... we are not like them.
We are different.
We are the Conservative Party.
“Back in the day, we were the ones who put out a poster saying:
“Labour say he’s black, we say he’s British. ”
We are still that same party.
“I don’t know whether you’ve noticed, but I am black. I am British.
I’m proud of my country... I’m proud of our history...
All that we have done, and all that we will do in the world.
Our best days are not behind us, and we will not let this country
go backwards!”
And considering this is a city that helped put Britain on wheels, it feels rather fitting.
Geely Auto UK has officially moved its headquarters from Milton Keynes to Ansty Business Park, bringing its UK sales, marketing, aftersales, network development and corporate teams to Coventry.
If the name Geely isn't immediately familiar, the companies connected to its wider group probably will be.
Its parent group has interests in brands including Volvo, Lotus, Polestar, Zeekr, Lynk & Co and the London Electric Vehicle Company, the company behind the modern electric black cab.
And Coventry was already a pretty important part of the Geely story.
The London Electric Vehicle Company has its manufacturing and development operation at Ansty, while Geely also has a global design studio in Coventry. Now its British passenger-car headquarters is joining them.
Geely only launched its own passenger cars in Britain last October, but says it has already passed 10,000 UK registrations in 11 months. It now plans to introduce another seven models over the next two years.
There's a Sky Blue connection too. Geely became the official automotive and sleeve sponsor of Coventry City in August, a couple of months before confirming its HQ move.
Its UK managing director Michael Yang described Coventry as “Britain's answer to Motor City” and said the company wants to put down roots here.
We quite like that description.
From bicycles to Daimler, Jaguar, Standard, Triumph and the black cab, Coventry's relationship with the motor industry runs ridiculously deep.
A lot of those famous factories have disappeared, but the city is clearly still attracting the next generation of the automotive industry.

Beer throwing seems a national sport at times. Ball, net, beer, air. It would be unwise of clubs to allow their stadia’s stands on match-days to be used for this new national sport. Unless you have a designated drinking/beer-throwing section - hard in packed PL grounds - it is hard to see how drinking alcohol in the stands will be universally welcomed. Issues of faith. Issues of not wanting to be showered in beer. Utter soak nonsense.
Issues of VAR complicating timing of these lager launches. Issues of drinkers bearing trays returning to their seats, distracting everyone in their row from the game. Excuse me, excuse me. Spillage.
Issues of a few minutes later the return run with an empty tray and full bladder. There are enough interruptions in the game anyway. And stewards are often busy enough without dealing with the occasional over-imbiber.
English football has changed and the trouble on the terraces has largely disappeared. The concern over the return of drinking in the stands is less the consumption but the projection. The PM is right to consider ways of helping clubs wanting to maximise revenue - and alcohol sales is one way. But the complications are considerable. It’s a hangover English football doesn’t need.
And ending the ban could impact local pubs - many of which have been under threat. British Beer and Pub Association claims that almost two a day are going out of business (161 in first quarter of 2026 inc 2,600 jobs).
Football has bigger issues than debating repealing the booze ban.

And have idiots chucking pints in the air when goals are scored like they do in fan parks and some pubs?
What about safe standing areas?
I'm a season ticket holder and like a pint but prefer 45 minutes without a drink to a beer shampoo and clothes rinse
